SOLVED. Adult Contemporary Romance series. Hero is deaf and part of the mafia (Russian mob?). He thinks the heroine was killed in a car bomb explosion. His father is out to kill him.

The book is part of other books but don't remember them. The book I'm thinking about is he is part of the mob. I think it's the Russian mob. I think the father is out to kill him. He thinks the main girl is killed in a car bomb explosion, but she's not. You find out that He is deaf. He has an adult brother that the father favors in the book also. I've read it within the last two years.
