Her mother has past and her father is not around. She is being raised by her half-sister. Suddenly, she is thrust into another world of class and privilege. She becomes the heir to billionaire Tobias Hawthorne.
There is a lot of family left behind in the Hawthorne family, including 4 brothers around the same high school age as Avery. The immediate family is left with very little inheritance. Avery is left with everything. She just needs to survive living with the Hawthorne family for one year, and she will inherit everything. Can she make it? She will be shot at in the first few days. The brothers are handsome and maybe one of them will catch Avery’s eye. But would it be safe to get involved?
The book begins with Avery running gambling rings at school and she is a master chess player. Is she the perfect match for Tobias Hawthorne?
