I'm almost finished, and I am really enjoying the book! At first, I wasn't entirely certain I'd like it - there was a LOT of teenage angsty emo! - but it got better and better!
I'm excited to read it! I got it on audible and will be starting it as soon as I finish my current book :)
I'm pretty sure it is Trans Awareness Week, so this book is a perfect fit.
I'm currently on chapter 2 and I really appreciate how well the author shared Felix's transition story and the confusion that he is having by his dad. Yet, still appreciating the support that he has been given.

I'm currently on chapter 21 and my biggest takeaway is that I would have loved this book in high school. I find this a good YA novel. I'll probably give it 4 stars. I thought it was decently realistic and it never felt long. I definitely enjoying the read.
I read this earlier this year and loved it. I agree with @Mariah Roze that I would have loved this book so much in high school. I also really liked how many different identities were represented in here, it wasn't just gay, or bi, or trans. Kacen Callender is an incredible writer. I have read a few of their books and they are all very special. I definitely recommend, King and the Dragonflies!
I loved this book and agree with everyone that it would have been great to have in high school. As a parent, I really appreciated the nuanced portrayal of Felix’s father, how he’s incredibly supportive and also having difficulty letting go of who he thought Felix was. Some of my friends have trans kids and it’s an adjustment to relate to them in new ways. In a way, that happens with all kids as they grow up, their adult selves can be very different from their child selves, but there are added dimensions to being trans. Felix’s experiences really helped me understand more of what trans people go through and deal with.I liked how inclusive this book was of all sorts of identities and how mater of fact everything was presented.,

I agree! A lot of times parents are portrayed in YA novels as either superrrrr supportive or extremely mean and terrible. I like how they portrayed the father in this book, because I feel the way the father and acted is very realistic.
