Thriller with some specific requirements

Greetings!

I am looking for a specific flavor of books. Normally, I just read procedural crime books or epic fantasy so I'm new to this flavor. I would like to read a thriller romance or romantic elements that involves any number or combination of the following without being focused on sex (though sex is fine on or off screen). I keep searching and ending up with BDSM erotic or thrillers for teens lol. Id like something in the middle.

-Stalker or obsession
-Manipulations - not like gaslighting but where someone (ie the stalker) is pulling strings and making plans that alter the course of events to fit their agenda for the main character. (Does this have a more concise way of referencing?) There can be several people working out things for their own agendas.
-Mafai/yakuza is also an interesting element but not necessary.
-Main female character has a strong will or fights back somehow (physically or otherwise) at least for a while (starting out or even in middle or end after getting renewed determination)

This idea came from a manga/comic I stumbled upon online and thought Id love to read something similar in novel form. I hope all that makes sense!! I can clarify anything if it does not. Thank you for your help!

So ... my book is set in an English village. Emma runs there to escape her violent partner. Except it turns out she hasn't... and that she's been manipulated all the time by a deadly supernatural force. Tired of running, gaining strength from new friends, and the eventual involvement of a cop, she agrees to confront the evil - but that also means confronting ... you-know-who. I think this sounds completely up your street. The tension's tight, Emma is awesome, and not everyone is coming clean about themselves.

I'd love you to give it a go. Its my debut and has only been out 6 weeks. Search for: "When Angels Fear."

I don't know if I can talk about my own books here, so if not I apologize. But my last thriller, Deadly Roses, sounds like EXACTLY what you're looking for. It's a romantic thriller based on a love triangle but no sex scenes and plenty of thrills as the old boyfriend seeks revenge for being ousted.

Scott's not a troll; he's new to the group so there's that. It is sort of confusing unless you've been around here for a while, so it's not like any of the people posting about their books are doing it maliciously. In fact, he apologized if he wasn't supposed to post here. On the flip side you are absolutely correct that I did ask people not to self promote. if we could please keep the conversation civil and allow a bit of leeway for the first misplaced post, I would appreciate it very, very much.

@Nancy All right, I will delete it, I thought he was a troll. I got a book recommendation again by another self published author, so I was in a bad mood. That is what trolls do, they sort of ruin the whole experience for me. Does not matter how prominently I write on my profile not to badger me with reqs, they keep coming.

Just so we're very clear, we've worked very hard to keep self promotion out of the reader threads. A long time ago you couldn't make your way through the threads because they were so clogged with author posts, so we created a number of places where authors can do this within the group. I realize and can appreciate that authors want to get their names out there and talk about their work, but please, people, I have asked more than once already. I don't like to do the cranky moderator routine, so please help me out. Thanks.

@ Ondreianna You haven't mentioned the authors you have read or like. So, Im going to recommend some of the basic classic writers of Romantic Suspence Sandra Brown, Linda Howard, Laura Griffin, Karen Robbard, Allison Leotta. Then you have Mary Higgins Clarke, Alafair Burke. I hope this list works for you.

Haven't read it yet, but getting 'From the shadows' by G R Halliday, author of the Series of detective Monica Kennedy. A Scottish police procedural published in 2019.
