Courtney I haven't read this book... yet.

Is this book in the right folder? I wasn't sure.

Catherine | 476 comments Do you mean the Kelley Armstrong ones? Cause they're about supernatural creatures like witches, werewolves, necromancers etc. I've read the first two, The Summoning and The Awakening and I thought they were both really good. I LOVE DEREK!

OMG ME TOO! Derek is so amazing in his own way. I kinda hope Derek ends up with Chloe. He's so sweet with her...

Catherine | 476 comments **SPOILER**
I know, at first I thought he was a bit of a freak in The Summoning, he wasn't exactly nice or gentle. But in the second book though, he's lovely. I kind of think there's something going on between them from the second book, but I suspect he doesn't want to steal Chloe off Simon and that's why he hasn't said anything.

I think you're right, but I think Derek would have no qualms if Chloe decided to be with him instead. When he transformed that time in the woods and she was there, that was cute. It was my favorite part of that book, if not the whole series. But I still think she's going to go for him instead of Simon. Simon's sweet and all, but Derek is...I don't know, Derek. He's protective and huge. Does that make sense?

message 6: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 476 comments Yeah, I loved that part when he transformed and she stayed to comfort him and when Derek tried to protect her from those two werewolves. Things is, I don't think Chloe realises at the moment that she likes Derek and that's why neither of them have made a move, and it seems to me that Chloe and Derek are better matched because they sort of understand each other more. Simon and Chloe never really talk to each other about anything important and he hasn't been with her when she's needed someone, like Derek has.

message 7: by Holly (new)

Holly | 139 comments YES! I'm totally rooting for Derek in book three. I'm so excited for it. And for more transformations because that was uber cool.

message 8: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 476 comments I really want them to meet some of the characters in the Otherworld Series. Like when the werewolves were telling Derek about the Pack, I thought they would meet or something. I'm quite excited for Derek to be able to fully transform as well, rather than just go halfway.
Don't you hate how you have to wait a whole year for the next book to come out, when it only takes you a few days at most for you to read it? The third one doesn't come out until May 2010 in England.

message 9: by Holly (new)

Holly | 139 comments I think here it's like January or maybe March or something. I don't remember, but I hate that feeling too.

message 10: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amandag123) just finished the awakening and i loved it! seriously these books get so deep and intricate. i feel like i know the characters and i am already feeling anxious about the conflict that will be the simon/derek/chloe love triangle, it's just gunna expload in book 3. can't wait.

message 11: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 476 comments Yeah I know! I'm feeling quite anxious about that Andrew? guy they're with at the moment and where he's going to take them. I can't wait to find out what actually happened with Simon and Derek's dad and I really want Derek and Chloe to get together already!

message 12: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amandag123) also, i think the guy in charge of the edison group ( i forgot his name) will turn out to be rae's father

message 13: by Catherine (last edited Oct 26, 2009 10:15AM) (new)

Catherine | 476 comments I don't like Rae, she really annoys me. I didn't like Tori either at first but I think she's starting to grow on me.

Thanks for adding me as a friend btw! :)

message 14: by Holly (new)

Holly | 139 comments I so like Derek with Chloe more than Simon with Chloe. I really hope that works out in the next book!

message 15: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 476 comments Simon's a good enough guy but I keep thinking of him as a pretty boy who's not really much use whereas Derek seems more mature and able to protect the group. Therefore, I'd pick him over Simon any day, even if he is supposed to be ugly.

message 16: by Holly (new)

Holly | 139 comments Same here. And I really don't think Derek's supposed to be ugly, just super tall and intimidating. Which, you know, isn't always a bad thing. I actually (sometimes) find that cute. Because he could protect me.

message 17: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 476 comments I thought I read that Derek was supposed to have a lot of acne, greasy hair, smells etc etc. Not that it bothers me...well in real life it would, but in Derek's case, he can't help it and he's lovely so I can overlook that!
And same here about big guys being cute, because I'm quite small, having a big, intimidating boyfriend would make me feel very safe!

message 18: by Heather (new)

Heather (heatherjoy) I'm team Derek all the way, though I really hope the acne clears up a bit. Regardless, I love him, in my mind he is glorious, lol.

Have any of you read Bitten by Kelley Armstrong? I loved that book as well, though it is adult fiction, not YA.

message 19: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 476 comments Yeah, I've read the whole Otherworld series and I can't wait to get my hands on Frostbitten. Clay and Elena is my favourite couple in that series, probably because they were the first ones we read about.

message 20: by Heather (new)

Heather (heatherjoy) If I weren't already fictionally married to Jace Wayland, I would marry Clayton Danvers of Bitten :)

message 21: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 476 comments Well, that's good, because I'm already fictionally married to Clayton Danvers, and I wouldn't want to have to claw your eyes out :)

message 22: by Heather (new)

Heather (heatherjoy) LOL!

message 23: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 476 comments Love how I always seem to be getting into cyber-fights with girls over fictional guys. It's pretty crazy!

message 24: by Heather (new)

Heather (heatherjoy) Well I'm a good sport so no worries. There are plenty of fictional hotties to go around. Share the lurve is my motto, but hands off Jace, I call dibs ;)
