Vivek Sharma | 5 comments The book is a spy thriller revolving around a British army / MI6 operative (I forget which) infiltrates the IRA, searching for a target who is wanted for some murder / blasts.

The book ends in a very interesting way where both of them die in a climax showdown.

I'd read the book some 20 years back, and have been searching for the book since a couple of years now. I have forgotten the book title, author, and other plot details in addition to what I've typed above.

Vivek, what is the story's time period and location?

Vivek Sharma | 5 comments I'm not aware of the time period, but the location would be in Ireland, as the protagonist infiltrates undercover deep into IRA.

By the way, thanks a lot for responding. I'd thought my query would die unanswered, and I'd never know what fantastic book I'd read years ago.

Harry's Game
Vagabond
The English Spy

Vivek Sharma | 5 comments Wow! Harry's Game seems just the right one! Thanks a whole lot!

Vivek Sharma | 5 comments I'm new to Goodreads. Can you please guide me how to close this query, since you've so kindly helped me with the book name?

What Jon said. Note: the "edit" link after the header only appears on the full Desktop website - not the Mobile website or app.

Vivek Sharma | 5 comments Oh, thanks a lot Jon and Kris. I can see one of you kind souls have already edited the header and moved it to the solved folder. Thanks a zillion!
