I started this yesterday and am starting Chapter 9:

(view spoiler)[ I have to say, this book is really good so far and I am enjoying it more than all the other ones! You know that Clary has bugged me from the beginning (I have to keep saying to myself "Clary is Young...Clary is Young...") but in this book, there is focus on others that I really like (here's looking at you, Simon!! :) and also, perhaps, Clary as a character has matured a bit so she doesn't bug me as much!! Can't wait to see what happens! (hide spoiler)]

I finished this book this weekend and have to say that this was the favorite of the Mortal Instruments that we have read!! I have the last book on hold from the library...hopefully the person who has it checked out returns it before the middle of December :D

(view spoiler)[ Clary didn't bug me near as much and the other characters really did shine in this book!! There was a set up for the final book in the Mortal Instruments series and I can't wait to see what happens! Simon...I really like you and where your character is going/ Alex needs to grow up a bit...but most of the characters in the group are just teenagers :) / The Shadowhunter world grows and becomes more interesting! Can't wait to see what happens in the final book of this series ;) (hide spoiler)]

YAY! I'm so glad to hear that it's the best in your opinion so far. It's great that they've been getting better and better. My library app still says about 2 weeks.

I finally got it yesterday and started yesterday and reading today too. Currently I'm on Chapter 11. You're right it's super good it starts off with a bang. Most of them so far have started a little slow and then get slowly more active.

On a different note, Have you watched any of the show? I've been watching some and I get surprised by all the things they've done differently in the show.

Chapter 10

When you start to agree with the parents in books or movies you know you're old. I don't know how old you are but I'm 30 and I have two young daughters so I have to say I agree with Jocelyn if I saw someone acting like Jace and my daughter was into them, I wouldn't approve of it too. BUT she went about it the wrong way yelling that she shouldn't be with him because as everyone knows, tell a teenager not to do something and they will want to do it more.
I mean we know that Jace isn't being himself but from Jocelyn's perspective I can totally see why she doesn't want them together (hide spoiler)]

Magnus telling Simon about his vision and that darkness is coming. Creepy the way it's worded but also cool, makes me wonder what's to come (hide spoiler)]

So far, it hasn't surpassed the last one because Lilith was a good bad guy last time and I'm not scared of Sebastian. He's creepy, but doesn't scare me. Maybe later in the book he'll scare me? But I do like certain aspects of this one better than the last one like the fact that it focuses on other characters and

Chapter 15 Sebastian saying Clary is like him b/c she hasn't cried over Valentine. Interesting-I wonder if this will affect the way Clary sees herself or if she'll just ignore it

WOW! The end was so cool with the battle and now Lilith is raised ahhhh. So glad Jace didn't die that was scary. I still don't know whether I like this one more than the last. It's pretty close. Lilith was scarier but Sebastian was so creepy and the battle in this one was so cool (hide spoiler)]

It's so sad that Alec and Magnus broke up though. I was hoping Magnus would forgive him. He's lived so long he should know that someone at first thinking about doing something bad but then not doing it is a good sign. I would thought his long life would mean more patience too. But maybe he's just so sad about it. I wonder how they will get back together because they have to because I think I've seen a series branch off the author has written about them two travelling and on adventures together (hide spoiler)]
