Density (halogarm) | 2 comments Hello, I recently got back into reading after almost a year of not finding the time and I realise that we now have a 'NOT A BOOK' category and a bunch of choose your own adventure (choice of games/hosted games etc) books were deleted... including ones that were almost twice as long as 'normal' books.

So that brings me to my question, does CYOA no longer count as books? I always thought they were, only difference is you choose how the story goes as opposed to 'normal' books where everything is already set.

And its just baffling how the Zombie Exodus series was also deleted... is it issues with the authors? Author's request? A mistake? Because it's not a traditional book, its free to be deleted?

If someone can help me out it'll really help because right now I'm just confused since I remember the books in my choose your own adventure shelf being double the size it is now.

None of those are reasons to delete a valid book on Goodreads (except fan fiction can be deleted at the author's request). I imagine the reasoning is the same as for works that are app based or require a subscription or registration to access them. There are other nontraditional books that are valid, but these particular ones fall under the category of books requiring an app or subscription.

Here is the list of non-book items:

Density (halogarm) | 2 comments Oh I see, so if they are part of something like choice of games/hosted games, they can be deleted/not allowed on the site.

Welp, I spend more time reading choose your own adventure books than traditional books these days so it's a shame that I won't be able to add them to my shelf anymore.
