The Great Gatsby - Buddy Read

I want to start reading it next week and it will be my first time reading it.

Has anybody finished reading it? What are your thoughts? I have just read the first pages but it's giving me really good vibes, I think I'll like this book =D

I read the first 1/4 and didn’t enjoy it that much, have you finished it?

I thoroughly dislike this novel... I find it pretentious and painful each time I try it haha!

Same, also I read about the author and apparently he stole his wife’s writting to write this book and I don’t know it kinda made me wanna read it less, if that makes sense?

I got to finish it, because it is so short that I didn't mind making the effort and, to be honest, I was curious about it, because one of my students mentioned one day when I asked him in class about the Great American Novel in his opinion, and he mentioned this book. So I guess that made me finish it.

I wouldn't say I didn't like it - although I didn't like the end - but I felt indifferent about it and I didn't get why it is so higly regarded.

I finished it! I found it to be kinda boring at times and I am glad it was short. I liked that the ending was a sort of plot twist kind of?! I think I preferred the movie, to be honest.
