Aww, sorry you didn’t like it better. Either way, I’m glad I loved it! I had to look past stupidity to love it. 😏
Kellie wrote: "I'm sorry I'm so behind. I am enjoying Party Line. Sorry I'm behind."No apologies necessary! I'm glad you're liking Party Line.
Melanie wrote: "I'm done! [spoilers removed]"Same. There was definite things I liked about it, and some stuff I didn't but it did feel less shallow than some Stine books which I enjoyed. I'm going with a 3 I think. I liked it enough, just didn't love it.
The Fear Street trilogy movies out in July will be rated R! I assumed they'd be rated PG13. This gets me more hyped :D https://comicbook.com/horror/news/fea...

Thanks Jen!
I think I mostly liked that the main character had specific likes and dislikes. Generic protagonists are something that starts to bug me if I read too many in a row.
I'm having a hard time sticking to things/focusing...etc. Unless it is my current hyperfocus. My only "excuse" is mental health stuff and ADHD! (Why does this have to happen even for fun hobbies.... not fair!) I'm just checking in to say heya and explain why I seemed to have vanished/abandoned this buddy read group. I hope everyone is doing well!
I really liked this one. The main character was different than most and it was kind of refreshing. I agree about the not asking for help. Like when does this girl think it's serious??? Haha
I've started (and read the first chapter of) The Midnight Club and it is hitting me really hard! Because I have always lived with chronic pain and being sick a lot, and always will. Just, for multiple reasons it's hitting me very personally.I'm liking it so far.
Oh No! I was just looking through chapter 2 (to see how long it is) and some of the pages are torn out!! Ugh. Just made a quick Amazon purchase for a new one!The damage: https://www.instagram.com/p/CPrR0ZsLQ...
Latasha wrote: "Oh no! That’s awful!"Yea. Right now Amazon says i'll get my new book Tuesday. *crosses fingers*

Heathens! That kind of sacrilege is appalling.
I'll start this some time next week.
I'll be starting soon! This is the one that's getting adapted by Netflix so I'm looking forward to that.
Jen wrote: "I'll be starting soon! This is the one that's getting adapted by Netflix so I'm looking forward to that."I didn't know any Christopher Pike books were getting adapted. I only heard of the R.L. Stine ones.

Yeah, so far I think it's just The Midnight Club. They just revealed the cast earlier this year so I think it's a ways off yet.
My new book is here and I have checked all the pages! It is perfect. I shall commence reading The Midnight Club :D
I finished The Midnight Club! I don't think it was perfect, some things I had an issue with but I really enjoyed most of it and some parts I think I really needed, because reasons. Also, I cried. Quite a bit. I gave it 4 stars.

Oh no that's not good.
So I finished Party line. It was good. A Bates is a good author. The ending was ok, but all in all I enjoyed it. I am now going to start on Final Exam.
I started the midnight club last night. Is the doctor a creep or did I just read too much into that? On page 58. Anya just finished her story.
I’m going to try to read all of the ones I own and any other little books I own that I got when I purchased these. I’m having the biggest reading slump and life stuff and I need to purge some things 😕
Melanie wrote: "Sending big hugs Mel, seems to be a world wide phenomena at the moment, post covid schlump."Thank you sweetheart 💕. It’s not a covid slump for me. I’ve been homebound since 2008 and have worn masks and always will. Just life and all the things 😕
The Midnight Club was fine. I don't think it helped that I was at a hospital the day before and the day after reading it.
Vanessa wrote: "The Midnight Club was fine. I don't think it helped that I was at a hospital the day before and the day after reading it."Oh bugger Vanessa, here's hoping you don't have the same bad luck with July's read!
Latasha wrote: "Oh I think I’m thinking about the hitchhiker?"Yes, I got confused for a minute there too. Nope, we haven't read this one.
I've just started The Ceremonies which is a bit of a door stopper so porbably won't be getting to this one for another week or so.
I just finished The Midnight Club. I liked it--it was different from most Point Horror. But I have to say, I hate when the summary of the book is nothing like the actual story. It made it seem like it was much more sinister than it really was. This was sad and moving, but I really didn't get any horror vibes from it.
