Chapter 3- Mark says the party line is addictive. Wait til chat rooms come around! He’s never gonna leave his house. I never used party lines. This book was published in 89, I would’ve been 7.

Lol. I was born in 89. Me and the book are the same age.
Lol. I should be moving this month so if I end up joining in i'll be late because I don't have the books and I can't be buying anything right now. Well I do have April's "The Wrong Girl". But I might join in later! I'll just have to see what I can get.
I'm away at the moment with limited internet, will be starting this in a few days. Tyler and Mel, I know I've got a couple of double ups at home, will check when we're back and I'm happy to post to the states if you'd like them. Everyone loves bookmail! 📚📚📚
Happy New Year everyone! I hope your move goes smoothly, Tyler!I'm still gathering all the books. I think I have most of them (some are still being mailed to me) I will start Party Line hopefully soon!
Thank you :) We're on track to move in by the 22nd. So i'm sure there's virtually no way i'll get to this month's in January. The place doesn't even have a mailbox, so we need to get one. Hence starting late, but if I can get the books after we move in I will. Get to them as I can, even if i'm late. :)
I finished Party Line. I think I’m going with 2 stars. I did not like Mark at all. The story was somewhat boring.
Better World Books has copies of some of them. They're one of my favorite places to get used books online. With the sales they do, they can sometimes end up being cheaper than Amazon even with Prime.
I was also born in '89. Even though I remember an episode of Full House with Michelle calling one of these sorts of phone services, it had not occurred to me that this was a thing that teens did.I have read a little less than half the book, and my main observation is that Mark is very unlikable, too.
I ended up getting Party Line today via Kindle! I saw they have it on kindle so I got it that way. I'll read it later this month. Probably when I finish The Tommyknockers.
I'm about halfway through. Mark currently has dates set up with 2 girls... What a great guy lol. I wonder what kind of damage he would've done in present day with Tinder?
I just ordered from the thrift store, Dream Date, Let Me Tell You How I Died, Hit and Run and The Ripper. I can’t get the rest as I shouldn’t have bought those abs save my money. But those beautiful old school books were calling to me 😃
I'm up to chapter 24 and quite liking it, especially that the characters are a little less one-dimensionsal than Stine's. I also like that Mark has a good relationship with his Mum, a single parent. I couldn't help but have a giggle at the microwave scene. Obviously they were only for the wealthy back in the late eighties. I can remember what a BIG DEAL it was in our house when we got one, and all the strict rules around using it!

I just now saw this!! I love book mail 😊. Wait, which one are we talking about? I get lost in the thread and I ordered the last few I could get on thrift books yesterday
I am sending you Party Line. That is the book we are all talking about right now. That’s January’s book.
So I have spare copies of The Ripper - D.E.Athkins
Final Exam - A Bates
The Body - Carol Ellis
Happy to post if there are any takers.

Omg! Yes! I need The Final Exam!! And The Body. For some reason I thought I git that one. Let me double check my order 🙄You guys are awesome!! I’ll message you my address 😊💕🙏🏻
Ok yep! I need The Final Exam and The Body!! Then I’ll just have a couple more I don’t have and one I can get from library 😃
I thought one was at my library! Did they just get rid of that trilogy, what the heck!! Well anyway, I still need to get these:
The Wrong Girl
Goodnight Kiss
Slumber Party
Gallows Hill.
I still have plenty of time to look around for those 😊
No worries, I still have to getDream Date
The Midnight Club
Goodnight Kiss
Slumber Party
Gallows Hill
The Pike ones in particular are hard to find here but I'll keep my eyes out.
I just have party line, dream date (got both this month) and the wrong girl (which I already had). Next month, when we should be in our new house by then, i'll see about getting as many of the others as I can. I'll probably check out thriftbooks, maybe amazon or etsy. Bound to be able to pick at least some of them up :) I'm hoping to start Party line tonight but will see. At least soon!

Well I read 4 chapters today. I'm liking it ok enough. Will hopefully read more tomorrow, but at least I have started it. :)
I forgot to say that I started Party Line. I think I must have read this as a kid/teen because it all sounds so familiar! It is very likely that I did because I read a lot of these cheesy 80s/90s teen horror books back in the day (before being able to track them on Goodreads)It's not bad, but I can see where this is going. Very outdated and funny because of that. I don't remember if Party lines were a thing for me in the 90s. If they were, I wouldn't have been interested. I don't like being on the phone.
I got Slumber Party!! I had this book when I was younger and have no idea what happened to it!! But I found one. The other few I listed are too much right now but I can at least read some with y’all and I’m going to try my used bookstore again. Hopefully this week in case a hole closes everything! They only had one there last time. These are pretty popular and if I see any old school horror, I try to grab it 😃😳

I've read 14 chapters so far. I'm having a horrible time trying to concentrate on it. Not because of the book or anything bad. I am still liking it. Though I imagine it'll be predictable but could be wrong.
