In this story, the fate of Britain hangs in the balance. Political parties are jockeying for power. A recently formed political party, the New Britain Party, is led by a visionary firebrand, Peter Plowart, who has planned the assassination of his arch-rival, the leader of his own political party. As Plowart anticipates the assassination, he realises that he must establish an alibi to show that he was somewhere else when it comes to pass. After examining the statistical tables of a meticulously researched government census, he decides to make a journey to a little island off the coast of Britain (modelled on one of the smaller Channel Islands) and give a speech to the citizens there. If everything is timed properly, he can rely on the inhabitants vouching for his presence among them when the assassination takes place. His encounter with the islanders, however, leads him to question and test his "will power".
The Killing Floor by Sara Blaedel seems to have only one edition listed, the Kindle edition, 26 pages. I just finished reading a mass market edition ISBN 9781455598458. August 2017 338 pagesPlease add this edition as my challenges require more than 150 pages - not 26!

HitlerWyndham Lewis (1882-1957) was a British novelist, painter, essayist, and polemicist. Credited with being the founder of the only modernist movement from Britain, Vorcticism, Lewis approached politics as an aesthetic discipline. His 1931 work Hitler was written after his visit to Germany that year, and highlights the charged atmosphere and uneasy tension that permeated Berlin. Bringing his wit and humor to analyze a country on the eve of revolution, Lewis argues that in contemporary 'emergency conditions' Hitler may truly be the best option for Germans.
Branded a National Socialist sympathizer – Wyndham Lewis’s reputation never recovered from the release of this book. Even later disavowals in The Hitler Cult and The Jews, Are They Human? (both in 1939) failed to restore his image. Throughout the 1930’s Wyndham Lewis persisted in his advocacy of what is now termed “appeasement”. During the war, he fled to the United States and Canada, all the while working to distance himself from his 1931 writings. His later work began explicitly praising a radical individualism which had been ever-present, but never before at the forefront. He returned home to England after the war, and went blind in 1951, but kept writing critiques and fiction of such quality that he had a brief renaissance of popularity before his death in 1957. Despite this, the shadow of Hitler continues to haunt the legacy of Wyndham Lewis.

Re my latest book, the ebook Second Lives: A Novel of Humans and Other Animals, the posted links (not posted by me) for buying the book are mostly incorrect. The only link on the page that actually works to buy the book is https://books.apple.com/us/book/x/id1...
How can I remove the incorrect links and add the other correct links for buying this book?

#480 Beatrice, if you mean two buttons: Amazon and Online stores, they apear automatically under each book on GR. They doesn't have a constant link, just show the result of search by ISBN or Title on different sites.
There is also a field for a link, but according to GR Manual:
This field is for entering a URL officially associated with that book, such as a page on an author's site for the book.
Thus I can't add a link to a bookseller that you gave, sorry.

This is my week to bother you SORRY - I've never had problems like this before.The only edition on Goodreads seems to be the Kindle edition for The Key by Patricia Wentworth- it lists someone named Dora Amy - have no idea who that is. Originally published in 1946, my edition was published in 1984 by Coronet Books. There are other editions on Amazon. My edition is mass market paperback ISBN: 0-340-02715-0. 192pages. Please list if possible or any other editions from Amazon.

The book argues that the colonial lunatic asylum failed to assimilate into Indian society and therefore remained a failed colonial-medical enterprise. It begins by assessing the implications of lunatic asylums on indigenous knowledge and healing traditions. It then examines the lunatic asylum as a ‘middle-ground’, and the European superintendents’ ‘common-sense’ treatment of Indian insanity. Furthermore, it analyses the soundscapes of Bombay’s asylums, and the extent to which public perceptions influenced their use. Lunatic asylums left a legacy of historical trauma for the indigenous community because of their coercive and custodial character. This book aims to disrupt that legacy of trauma and to enable new narratives in mental health treatment in India.
