Thanx Jonetta for you diligence.

Okay scary fan moment for the year I think. * hanging my head with embarrassment *
Falls under contingency or disaster planning. I'd put serious money on her publisher having made provisions for her to have at least a draft of the end of the series under her lock and key, especially now that we're up to over 50 books.

It's something to worry about, especially for her publisher. Good question, Michelle, and one they must have discussed. She talks about what ends the series so you know she has to have thought about it.

I can understand J.D./Nora's thinking on this. I can respect it. I would never tell her what to do. That being said, it doesn't stop me wishing to see their life as parents.
I think it's because she made these characters so well. I want to see Nadine fall in love. I want to see Peabody/McNab get married and have kids.
I guess I just want all these people (my good friends who help me through my migraines and/or sinus headaches) to stay in my life perpetually.

I hope I made it clear that I'm not opposing Nora's policy on Eve/Roarke as parents. I just wanted to say that personally I really want to know Eve, Roarke and the gang throughout their and my lives.

Kind of like an epilog in the back of the last book. I'd be happy with that.
I love it when they interact with children (Survivor being my favorite book so far) so maybe she could just have a kid or two stay with them periodically.

She's turned down the promotions because she loves going out in the street and the chase. And the biggest reason she turns it down is SHE HATES PAPER WORK and DISLIKES BEING A PENCIL PUSHER.

I think it's because of their backgrounds. They like children, but do not want children of their own.
Seeing Bella, Mitzi (?) and some of the other children they have saved in different books is enough for them.

I almost think Eve would take the captaincy if it comes with the understanding/ guaranty that she has moved up the ranks but it changes nothing. She still does field work, she doesn't have to play politics and don't have to bother, overmuch, with paperwork. This might also be round about the time that Peabody gets her lieutenant badge.

I've always thought any daughter would have a rough time. Number one, how would you know any boy wasn't just after you for your money? Number two, just how protective would Daddy be?

Roake would never let her on the streets if she got pregnant.
The lives they led, mentally, maybe they couldn't deal with being a parent.
She can't be the cop she is if she was a parent; no set schedule, late hours, non existant sleep schdule during a case, barely time for Roake during a case. Where would a baby fit in??
