Same like they’re meant to be people for us to look up to and see ourselves in sometimes. And also, just bc they look perfect doesn’t mean they are. Lots of people love Sarah (and I do too) bc sure they may not find a physical representation of themselves but waaaay more people look for mental representations that they find in her books. The way she writes grief and trauma and pain makes the characters so less than perfect. And if they were ‘perfect’ the book series wouldn’t exist bc they’d solve the issue in an instant.


i totally agree.
On the outside they are beautiful. But like you say almost every book charracter looks beautiful and if they look beautiful people are saying that they are too perfect and when charracters describe themselves as ugly people sya they are whiny and need to be confident so no matter which case people stay stuff about it and it isnt good.
Also sarah does make her charracters real on the mental side. All of her charracters struggel with things in all the series she has. And mental health definitly isnt perfect and it is raw and just life.
