Another thought that comes to mind is how grateful I am that we read Scarlet Falls first. While this story stands alone quite nicely, Lance’s backstory is so important to understanding where he is coming into this book. And, I like knowing a lot about the town, including Brody, Stella, Horner and how Gianna came to be living with Morgan.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1811 comments Yes, reading the Scarlett Falls series first is a must. This book is more of a continuation of that series, but I understand the logic in it being seen as a spin-off because all the books focus on Morgan and Lance rather than on a new couple each time.

I enjoyed the book despite the issues that I mention in some of the questions.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments This story pulled me in from the beginning. I enjoyed it immensely. Yes, I'm happy that we read the Scarlett Falls series first, especially when it comes to Lance's injury in the previous books. We now know where he stands mentally at the beginning of this book.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this book. And, the narrator no longer uses bizarre male voices so even that’s working well.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments I really enjoyed this story. I read it before, but having the backstory from the previous series did add insight to the characters.

I have to add that I want to more about Sharp. He is a character. His healthy life stye while Morgan loves her coffee and donuts. I can see more lectures in the future. I must admit that I like the three of them working as a team.

I listened to the audiobook this time around. The narrator has improved since Scarlet Falls.
