Ahhh sorry, I just needed to rant somewhere. So I just spent like thirty minutes trying to put a picture to the side of my paragraph in a post. It should not take that long for someone to figure it out. I swear I hate Wordpress so much right now. The inline button doesn't even work correctly. Also, guess what? After I finally got it so the paragraph starts at the top of the picture, it's not even on the side that I want it. Ugh

AHHHH I'M ABOUT TO SMASH SOMETHING. AGAIN. So you know how some people are smart enough to put sidebars in their blog posts? I'm too stupid to do that. Somebody help me. Oh and then also, I can't figure out how to put a navigation above my title in a blog post. I think Phoenix yours has that right? What theme are you using? Sorry for being the one person who asks all of the questions that I should know the answer to

Oh and then also, I can't f..."Hi Lilly... don't worry I had that same problem too. You can only have a sidebar if your theme offers one. I use Tonjours... you can see my blog to figure out whether it suits you? Nucleare and Sobe also have sidebars. I hope this helps, apologies I'm not sure about what the navigation part means.
Thank you Cherelle. So I went through a couple of themes with sidebars and that's not something that would work for my blog unless I almost entirely changed my blog. As for the navigation thing, you know how there are buttons at the top of a blog that people can use to go to different pages? It's just a group of those buttons. I'm not sure if it would work though, so it is what it is
Oooh I just fixed a major problem in my blog. So in other themes I've used you can't add a custom menu for some reason, and I just added one and now it shows up on everything. I've fixed all of my problems for now, so that's good
Quick question, does anyone know how to make your logo smaller when you set it up to automatically appear on all of your pages?

Are you guys talking about the header image? For me, I just had to experiment with different image sizes... starting with the one that my theme suggested.

Hmm. I use the business card size, because I personally like how that looks.

so i started off on wix too, and i had a pretty okay website, but you're right the SEO, and the whole free plan was awful!!for the sidebar, you'll have to click the little customise button, and then when a column appears, you'll have to click the thing inside it called "widgets". after clicking on widgets, you can get options to add text, images, html, buttons, etc, to your sidebar and 3 footer options!!
keep exploring and clicking stuff, you'll find your way!! i mean, that's what i did :/

Hmmm....I don't know blogspot very well (aka at all) but maybe you could try to have a menu for different pages at the top instead of having to click the three bars at the top. And maybe make actual pages instead of just archives and labels because that's a little confusing. Then you can sort your posts into book reviews and book tags and monthly wrap ups or something like that. Hope that helps....

Hey, how do you all hide spoilers in your posts? I recently found a workaround online, but I was wondering if there was an easier wayAlso, do any of you know what it means when the html goes completely black after some text? And if there's some way to fix it?

Okay so do you have a page published that just isn't up on that bar?
If that isn't working, try going to 'customize' and then 'menus' and then 'main menu' (it should probably say 'currently set to primary menu' or something) and when you're there you can click 'add items' at the bottom and add pages to the menu

I like the second one better. With the images above, when they're on the side they make the text line up a bit funky.

i’m currently using penscratch 2, but some good ones imo are toujours, nucleare, gateway, button 2, and libre 2.
yep I've tried toujours before and am currently using Nucleare... I would recommend both!
it looks good! my only concern would be not having a logo at the top. what theme are you using?
I went with Gateway, and I can insert a logo, but I chose to remove mine because A; I'm probably going to change the name of my blog and hence the logo as well and B; I didn't like my old one. I'm currently working on designing something else so that's why there isn't one.

OKAY SO I NEED HELP WITH WORDPRESS.I'm trying to make four sections: Home, Blog, About, and Contact. Here are my problems:
- They're not in the order I want them to be in?? So I click the "reorder" button when I'm setting up the menu and I put them in the correct order I want them, but they're not showing up the right way? For some reason, 'About' is first at the top (on the actual site) instead of 'Home.'
- So I'm trying to create a dropdown menu. For my "Blog" section, I'd planned to have three sections; "Reviews", "Book Tags," And "Book Lists." I used the same "reorder" button when creating the menu and I put used the left arrows to put them into the "Blog" section but it's not showing up as a dropdown menu when I'm on the site? Like they just show up as regular sections rather than a dropdown option like I'd wanted.
Sorry if that was confusing lol, if anyone can help that would be great!

Then, you can drag the different page titles to different spots in order. And for dropdown menus, it should work the same way, if you're in the same spot, you can sorta drag things to be slightly...indented, sorta, under other page titles, which will make it into a dropdown menu.
Not all themes support dropdown menus I don't think, though? But almost all should.
Weird. Okay so yeah I'm in customizer -> menus -> *primary* -> and then I drag them into the order I want them to be in but it doesn't show up in the order I wanted them when I go to the site?? So I'm using the Twenty Twenty theme, do you know by chance if that supports dropdown menus?

The same thing was happening with me the last time I tried to change it, or more or less the same...The main thing would be finding out whether your theme supports drop down menus.
Other than that, is the order problem like you can't get the hierarchy to be right?
Like what was happening with me was that I would save it as Home, About, and Blog, and then put Reviews, Tags, and Lists under Blog, but what it would do was put them all out separately. Or put Reviews under Blog, and not take Lists and Tags.
In the end it took me a while, but I used the buttons instead of dragging it, and it worked out fine.
For me, I've put it in the right order that I want it and under "Blog" I have Reviews, Tags, and Lists, but the order isn't right when I look at my site.

The only thing I could think of to do that's a little off on yours is that all the things you want on the dropdown menu should be the same amount indented--for example, if you look at Ritz's, they're all the same amount indented whereas yours get more and more indented as they go down--unless you want it to look like that (which I believe, if it worked, would make a dropdown in a dropdown in a dropdown).
