ABANDONED. Middle grade Fantasy series about alternate worlds/universes

I read it in the 4th grade so... 2006/2007? It was a series, each book in the series, the main character travels to a different world, completely different from the previous. I remember that one world (i think the second book) was entirely underwater. I think that she travels to these worlds through a sewer of some sort? definitely underground from what my imagination remembers. I believe the first book title was the girl's name or the world she traveled to. I think it started with an A. it wasn't an extremely popular book like A-Z mysteries or the percy jackson series. please help!!!

So, not a female main character, but could it be the Pendragon series? I’m pretty sure the mc goes to a water world in the second book
