At some point, someone wouldn't add a cover I scanned until I actually said that I scanned it myself - and didn't get it from one of the not-allowed sources. So now I make sure to mention it. (Shrug.)

I don't have a scanner, only a camera, and taking a perfectly aligned and lit photo of a book cover can be tricky. So I like to see a good scan, myself.

I bet that it's very tricky! Much harder than scanning. The only downside to using a scanner is that I have a handful of books that don't actually fit on the scanner bed.
