Please, if you are looking for two books, you must separate this into two threads and look for the second book in that second thread.
If you are only looking for the first book about Jack the Ripper, no need to create a second thread.

OP is looking for 1 book; it is the first book in a series.

I haven’t read it but the synopsis is a good match and it also has a sequel set in Paris.

The first book is set in 1888 about a young detective with Scotland Yard is searching for Jack the Ripper. The young detective uses a team from America developing forensic testing. Sub-plot of a young woman that is sent to live with her Aunt in London after the death of her father due to the fact that her dad left her everything and her family are horrible social climbers. The detective meets this woman through the Aunt and falls for her but the woman falls for a doctor in the community. He is suspected of the murders but is cleared. The killer is reveled to the be polish assistant to the coroner and flees the city.
The second book I did not finish but is set in Paris. The team from London travels to Paris after the body of a woman is found in the Seine River. I also believe the building of the Eiffel Tower is involved in the murder plot?
I am looking for the title of the first book. With so many books over Jack the Ripper finding a certain is difficult. I'm hoping this community can help me out!
