Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments I have Fairest down for time travel. Does it not contain time travel? It can only count in one category and it doesn't matter which for the purple categories - there are no bonus points for covering all of those those.

I don't see Morality Play in the spreadsheet... I read iand reported it yesterday for the historical fiction category... Just want to make sure we get all the points we deserve ;0)

message 53: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments Ah, thanks for letting me know, Marie Claude. Must have missed that. I've put it on.

Please can everyone check the spreadsheet, by the way, to make sure the books they've read are on it, because it can be easy to miss a reporting post, especially when people are also chatting.

message 54: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments Fairest, no time traveling :-( sorry, I can find a book to fit that though. Make sure if it needs to be in outerspace you can put it there otherwise it can be used for book in a series or maybe a royalty:-) Once again I'm causing trouble

message 55: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments And are chatting thread I offered to do the book that takes place in outer space, I don't know if you miss that Gail :-) what a tough task you have, let me know if there's anything I need to read to cover bonus points. Especially when it gets closer to Saturday :-)

message 57: by Marie Claude (new)

Marie Claude (mariecg2001) | 1030 comments Finished As She Climbed across the Table this morning.

It can be used for Science-fiction, Romance or for the "author new to me" task. Your choice Gail :)

message 58: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments Berit, so I'm to change Fairest to 'outer space'? It doesn't matter which category it's in, so long as it fits that category. I thought you'd said time travel to begin with, so that's why I put it there, but I'll change it.

message 59: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments There is no 'outer space' category. I am doing a search for 'outer space' and it's not there. Can you tell me the name of the category on the spreadsheet.

message 60: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments Gail there is no time traveling in Fairest, if I said so I apologize :-) do we need a time traveling book? Let me know. I will help wherever we need to be helped

We don't need a time travelling book. I need to know a category to put Fairest in - a category that is there in the spreadsheet. Please can you look at the spreadsheet and tell me the category you want to put it under. Please can you use the words that are in the spreadsheet, so I can find it. 'Outer space' isn't a category.

Elsbeth (elsbethgm) | 1152 comments Maybe she means the category I wanted to use Worse than Senseless Things for (which I probably won't read)- takes place on an alien world or space ship?

message 63: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments That is it an alien world :-) sorry for once again confusing you ;-) I must drive you crazy Gail

message 64: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments I read alien world or on a spaceship, and in my brain thought outerspace, sorry again ;-)

message 65: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments Elsbeth wrote: "Maybe she means the category I wanted to use Worse than Senseless Things for (which I probably won't read)- takes place on an alien world or space ship?"

Maybe. But I don't want to keep searching and guessing whenever a post is unclear, because that is a lot of extra unnecessary work for me, and I may be wrong. So I will just ask, and then the person can do the necessary searching themselves and tell me what they meant.

Haha, Berit just did!

Okay, thanks - I'll add it. And yes, you are driving me crazy a little bit - I think you should turn off your autocorrect! :-)

Elsbeth (elsbethgm) | 1152 comments Take a deep breath, Gail! Don't let us all drive you crazy... We wouldn't want that! Remember: it is just for fun...
(Well of course we want to win as well...) ;)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments Yes, Gail. If we become a pain in the neck just turn of the computer, go read and drink some red wine. :)

message 72: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments I think I am the main cause of her stress :-) sorry Gail I will be better in the future, or at least try ;-)what an amazing group we have. Go Team C!!!

message 73: by Elsbeth (new)

Elsbeth (elsbethgm) | 1152 comments Wow, we really have a lot of green on the spread sheet already! And it isn't even Wednesday, yet!

message 74: by Elsbeth (new)

Elsbeth (elsbethgm) | 1152 comments It is not entirely your fault, Berit! I've planned to read 4 books and so far I have read 3, among which is only 1 I had planned. Sorry about that, Gail!

message 75: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments Thanks, all - I do enjoy doing the spreadsheet, but I find it difficult to understand posts when autocorrect has changed them into something else. Then I can't add books to the spreadsheet. Berit, did you ever figure out how to add a book using the link? Then autocorrect won't be able to change it, and I won't have to do a search for it.

message 76: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments No, not going to lie, I've had a lot of problems with figuring out the website. My accounts don't seem to match sent an email to support but haven't heard back yet.

message 77: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments My goal will be to have figured out the website by the next team Toppler. Unfortunately for you Gail, this will not help you. I am having such a good time and I am so sorry if I am making them less of a good experience for you.:-) I am feeling really bad right now ;-) sorry again.

message 78: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments Ah, hopefully support will be able to help you fix it. Don't worry - it's hard to figure out the site at first. I'm glad you're enjoying the Toppler. :-) I'm enjoying it too.

message 79: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments Thanks Gail! I was just on the site and I have to admit I'm a little technically challenged ;-) the app is so easy. I think they just need to change the app so I can add links :-)

message 80: by Ava Catherine (new)

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments I see that I have been given credit for reading Notorious Nineteen, but I did not read this book. I think Berit did. It is so easy to get off by a column, and I think that is probably what happened.

message 81: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments Yes I did read that. Does it matter who read what?

message 82: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments It's okay - I've changed it. I must have got the column confused.

message 83: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments I wish there was a way we could all share a spreadsheet and everyone could put their own books in. Or everyone could just do a spreadsheet for themselves and we could add them all together at the end. This spreadsheet is very big and needs lots of scrolling!

message 84: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments I know a good way to do it. When people are telling me a category, say what number row it's in, and what letter your name is under. So I have the coordinates and can easily find the square to put the books in.

message 85: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments Yeah, that would be a good way, Gail.

message 86: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments Gail, if you could message me the link I can get to the link that way, otherwise I can't get to the link via the app. This app has become problematic ;-)

message 87: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments What link do you mean, Berit? To the spreadsheet?

message 88: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments Yes

message 89: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments It might be easier if it's just put in the initial post of this thread - then you don't have to keep switching to messages. Elsbeth, could you put a link to the spreadsheet in your opening post, please?

message 90: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments It won't matter Gail, I can only get a link through a message. Don't worry about it I'll just report how I am and drive you crazy ;-)

I started reading the Bell Jar

message 94: by Marie Claude (new)

Marie Claude (mariecg2001) | 1030 comments Just finished Chercher Sam for the "set in Canada" task (cell i-11 on the spreadsheet).

Something happened yesterday and will not be able to read as many books as I would have liked for the rest of the week since I need to take care of my son for the next few days. I will try to read a couple more, but no promess... Please send some positive thoughts his way, he really need them.

message 95: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments Hope everything gets better soon, Marie Claude. Don't worry about your readings, just take care of you son. Keep yo both in my prayers.

message 96: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments You're in my thoughts as well :-) there is nothing more important than family!

message 97: by Gail (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments I hope your son is okay, Marie Claude - I am thinking positive thoughts for you both.

message 98: by Elsbeth (new)

Elsbeth (elsbethgm) | 1152 comments Marie Claude, I hope he is/will be all right! I'm sending lots of positive thoughts your and his way! And don't worry about the Toppler - it is supposed to be for fun! And I can imagine your head is not in it right now!

message 99: by Elsbeth (new)

Elsbeth (elsbethgm) | 1152 comments I just finished my fourth book! Sorry, Gail, another one who I didn't plan to read. Somehow all the ones I planned seemed like a good idea at the time. And now I just don't feel like reading them...

I read: Forest - Love, Loss, Legend by Rod Raglin. It can be used for:
- Canada
- job I don't want my date to have (a journalist in a war zones...)
- shooting (there is a hostage situation which is solved this way)
- Crafting (one of the characters draws animals and plants)
- Brokeback Mountain’s Jack and Ennis; forbidden love (the main character has a secret love during his teenage years, with a girl from India; her father mustn’t know about it)

I am under E in the spreadsheet.
By the way: how do I post a link?

message 100: by Gail (last edited Feb 11, 2015 12:50PM) (new)

Gail (appleshoelace) | 779 comments Elsbeth, click on '(some html is okay)' on the top right of the comment box, and it will give you the code to post a link. I would post the code here, but then it would just change into a link rather than show you the code!

ETA: Or did you mean a link to the book? You already did that, by clicking on 'add book/author'. :-)
