Keya Thanks Heather. I tried that, but it just seemed to scroll down infinitely - or maybe I just gave up near the end.
But I tried switching the browser and I guess it's working now.

Don’t scroll on the site’s home page, try it from this group’s home page. The “group home” page (link upper right sidebar) has a finite end.

Oh ewwww We knew it was only a matter of time, but still... ewww! That's probably why Search was down for several hours this afternoon. Figures, I get home from a week away, have a lot of GR updates, etc., and Search is down...

I couldn’t get on the site at all at one point this afternoon. Always something.... 😐

Thanks Heather, seems like it's working now :)

Especially where GR is concerned 🙄 Why can't they just leave things alone? Were everyday GR users clamoring for updated book pages? I doubt it...

The overwhelming majority of people I know dislike the beta book page format. Amazon is trying to make GR look more like their site and frankly, I’m not a fan of the way their book pages are set up, either.

Brenda | 5045 comments Amazon can be quite difficult to navigate at times :(

Mark Baker (carstairs38) | 1060 comments Anyone not receiving their usual email notifications for this group? Ever since the new "What we are reading" threads opened, I haven't gotten any notifications for them even though I've posted in both of them, which usually starts me getting them.

It's very annoying.

Best I can tell, my notification settings haven't changed. And I'm still getting my notifications for other groups.

Hi Mark,

I have no idea why this happens, but I recently had a similar experience in another group. Sometimes it helps to change your notifications to “none,” wait a short while, then reset it to “receive.”

I get notifications for group posts most times.
I never get notifications for posts on a review discussion on an individual book.

Meg (makeli2) | 2322 comments I'm not getting any site notifications; the last one showed up a day ago. It's irritating. I've restricted email notifications to keep my inbox from filling up so I rely on the notifications here.

Meg — Have you checked the spam/junk folders to make sure they haven’t been misrouted? I have accidentally hit the spam button instead of delete on occasion, which then sends all GR messages to the spam folder until I notice it and mark it as not spam.

message 64: by Brenda (new)

Brenda | 5045 comments I had email notifications come in yesterday which were from 30th March and 1st April!!

message 65: by Meg (new)

Meg (makeli2) | 2322 comments Sorry I didn't get back here sooner, Heather. I wasn't ignoring you, promise! So, anyway, these weren't email notifications but rather the ones on the site itself, the ones you get when you hit the bell icon. I rely on these for a quick look at what's happening. I'm finally getting some volume, but it took three to four days. Before that it I got one a day if I was lucky. So it's getting better

Ahh, that is odd. I’ve had that happen before, but not in a long while (knock on wood).

message 67: by Meg (new)

Meg (makeli2) | 2322 comments It happened to me a month or so ago but lasted for a shorter time, maybe a day or day-and-a-half. I cleared my cache both times, but I don't think it did much. Fingers crossed that my turn is done for awhile! 😄

message 68: by Mark (new)

Mark Baker (carstairs38) | 1060 comments I'm not getting my normal emails for group posts or review likes. Is it just me, or is everyone else suffering, too?

I am still getting my daily email of friend's reviews.

message 69: by Brenda (new)

Brenda | 5045 comments They've changed everything Mark. We are only going to get those via email now. We've got to use notifications and discussions to get it all. Plus we now have a little box at the bottom of our threads which we have to tick. It says "Notify me when people comment".

Why are they always “fixing” what isn’t broken? Do they not know how difficult they are making things for moderators? 🫤

message 71: by Barb (new)

Barb | 1192 comments I doubt they care *sigh*

I don't think they're fixing things. I think they're downsizing.

Jaye — I don’t see how instant notification affects staffing, but if their goal is to reduce traffic at GR, they’re on the right track. I have already seen less activity not only in this group but in others I am in. You know what they say — out of sight, out of mind. If people don’t receive daily notifications, they are less likely to visit. Many members rely on those direct links for group discussions. It makes me feel discouraged in participating and I’m a group mod.

message 74: by Brenda (new)

Brenda | 5045 comments You're right Heather, it's all over the site unfortunately!!

The notifications feature is just the latest thing to be affected. It's been happening a long time. Remember the Feedback Group? That was a well liked and much used feature.
Some features are hidden now. If you're new you probably have no idea what used to be (not you specifically, i mean in general).
