I chose Interview with the Vampire because a couple of friends recommanded it to me and gave it to me for my birthday. As it fits in this theme, I chose it! I saw the movie a few years ago, I didn't remember very well. I just know that is an old movie (I'm not a big fan of old movie, espicially because of their aspect, you know images are not very clean, I know HQ did not exist but... It bothers me) Anyway, I hope the memory of the movie won't bother me to the reading, I will see what I think about it. I begin tonight! (I'm not sure about the week but I prefer to have a head start because some book of my list can be pretty big, or I can be busy after or what so...)

"Old movie". I was something like 15 years old when I saw it xD Thanks, now I feel very old :p
Interview with a vampire was not my favorite in the Anne Rice's series (don't ask me the one I prefered, it was a long time ago and now I'm a very old lady :p Anyway I liked The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned because of the vampire history parts, and didn't enjoy the sequels).
I read Interview shortly after seeing the movie and found them differents. The movie has more humor (and Brad Pitt :D).

SORRY I WOULD NOT MEAN THAT YOU'RE OLD! It's just the graphic aspect of the movie, compared to what we have know! That's all x)I've got Lestat too, by the same friends! I will read it later. And I didn't now Anne Rice until now so I can't judge about her work. I will watch again the movie after fishing the book because I like to compared to two :)
No problem, you'll have your turn in 15 years when the kids will tell you how old LotR and Harry Potter movies are :p
Anne Rice was a great writer at this time and she described well "true" vampires (because, well, I've problems with the new ones who go in highschool... If I was a 100 years old vampire, I'm pretty sure I would have kill all the teenagers, after one week :p).
I'm looking forward to your review on Interview, it will be interesting to know how "dark" vampires are liked today :)

Oh god I don't want to imagine that!I very hope I will enjoy it. And I already know what a real vampire looks like ;) I read Dracula! Ahah
Ah, Dracula. This is old :p I tried to read it but was all along: "Dude, this man is a vampire, you have run away". So I couldn't continue it. I'll retry it in 40 years :p
Lestat is a lot more sexy :D

I have to admit it was not very, I don't know how to say it but it was pretty slowly. But it's a classic, that's why I read it. And also before it was my "vampire time" and I wanted to know the start or nearly of this legend :)
I loved Interview With A Vampire, but it wasn't my favorite by her. That would be Blood and Gold. My copy is so worn and tattered now. Which Lestat book are you talking about? I only ask because she just released a new one and those are ones you sort of want to read in order
But seriously....Blood and Gold. read it.
I loved this book and loved the movie adaptation too - I think it was done brilliantly. I was at uni when the movie came out ... so I'm an old lady too. :(
