Oct 2020 Julies pre-readathon challenge

This is just what I need to get myself ready for the next readathon

Currently at 14/15

1 - Read a "long" book (over 500 pages) - For readers under 13, page count over 250 pages. Can be multiple books
Dragon's Teeth finished October 9th

2 - Read a "short" book (under 250 pages) - For readers under 13, page count under 100 pages. Can be multiple books
The Museum of Mysteries finished October 3rd

3 - Pick 5 of your favorite genres and enter them in a randomizer. Read a book in that genre
(Favorite genres: YA contemporary, dystopian, crime, fantasy, chick lit)

4 - Read a "spooky" book (your own definition of spooky is fine)
New York 2140 finished October 8th

5 - Read a book that is 75% one color on the cover.
Vinger af sølv (silver) finished October 10th

6 - Read a book that was published in the last 18 months
The Nickel Boys finished October 10th

7 - Read a book that was published more than 100 years ago - For readers under 13 years old, a book published more than 10 years ago.
Wives and Daughters

8 - Read a book set in the Fall or with a cover that looks like it is Fall (leaves changing, etc)
The Horse Dancer (red leaves on trees) finished October 16th

9 - Read a book set in the Spring or with a cover that looks like it is Spring (trees blooming, etc)
Springtime for Murder finished October 11th

10 - Read at least 75% of a book when it's dark outside - For readers under 13, it must be read 75% after dinner, but doesn't have to be when it's dark outside.
Mitjas kärlek by Ivan Alekseyevich Bunin finished October 7th

11 - Read at least 75% of a book outside (please social distance... a park or back patio will do fine)
Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier finished October 8th

12 - Read a book with an animal (real or made up) on the cover
Mutts & Murder finished October 10th

13 - Read a book with a main character or author whose first name starts with the same letter as your first name.
Kongeriget (by Jo Nesbø) finished October 21st

14 - Take five books you really want to read and put them in a randomizer and read whichever one is chosen.
(Possibilties: Wives and Daughters, American Pastoral , True Grit, The Museum of Mysteries, With the Fire on High) finished October 23rd

15 - Read a book that is set in a location you wish you could visit or live in. This location can be real or imaginary.
Rent blod finished October 23rd

#4 - New York 2140 - dystopian fiction is 'spooky' in my world...

How was New York 2140? I have read his Mars trilogy, and found the books amazing but somewhat hard going. But the descriptions were so vivid that when the Mars Rover images came in a few years back, I automatically thought "No no, that's wrong. There's supposed to be polar ice there." lol

I've not finished it yet (about 30 minutes to go in the audio version) - I've found it really interesting but also a bit long...

I'm doing th #FBCreadathon this weekend and it's really good news for my progress on this challenge. Just finished #12

Oh well. Family visits for a week made this unaccomplishable for me... I still have more than half of Wives and Daughters left to finish. Ending at 14/15

I think I will leave the rest of that book till after the readathon, and read other books for the readathon...
