Grace Brouse At the beginning of this chapter is presents readers with a definition of sentence fluency, stating it to be writing that can be differentiated based on what needs to be worked on or what is readable. One activity the book shares is asking students what they think sentence fluency is. This can mean many different things to students like word total, order, rhythm or other features. Once students have created a list of ideas, of what sentence fluency means to them, teachers can take the opportunity to redefine it using all the ideas presented. This will help students to continue to conects these words and thoughts to the idea of sentence fluency, but also add a new definition to their growing minds. In this chapter it also presents a student and teacher writing guide for sentence fluency. Each chapter I find these crucial as it can help both parties stay on track with their writing goals. Then the chapter continues to provide readers with samples for them to rely on when engaging others in the ideas of sentence fluency. Another part of the chapter that I found helpful is that it provides lessons for teachers, this can be very helpful if students are struggling with the method or way of teaching that is currently being used in the classroom.
