Synopsis
Pay close attention and you might solve this.

On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention.
Bronwyn, the brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule.
Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess.
Nate, the criminal, is already on probation for dealing.
Cooper, the athlete, is the all-star baseball pitcher.
And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High's notorious gossip app.

Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention, Simon's dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn't an accident. On Monday, he died. But on Tuesday, he'd planned to post juicy reveals about all four of his high-profile classmates, which makes all four of them suspects in his murder. Or are they the perfect patsies for a killer who's still on the loose?
Everyone has secrets, right? What really matters is how far you would go to protect them.

I started reading this book (have read 2 chapters) and loving it so far. The multiple POV narration style is very different from what I usually read, but I thought it fitted the plot perfectly. Talking of the plotline, (view spoiler)[ did it remind of Gossip Girl to anyone else? At least the start of the book felt like that. But then, the gossipy character dies, so there might not be a lot of similarities. I also have a feeling this could have some similarities with 13 reasons why. I like how the 4 main characters are also the typical stereotypes you would expect to find in a teen high school drama. It will be interesting to see the interaction between these 4. I can already feel something romantic happening between Nate and Bronwyn. And Simon and Addy already are already kind of friends, Addy being Simon's best friend's girlfriend. (hide spoiler)]

I agree on your spoilers. (view spoiler)[It also felt like a bit of 'Pretty little liars' to me. The POV's are worked out good and allthough there are jumps from POV to another, it isn't confusing. (hide spoiler)]

I made it to chapter twelve. It definitely gives a nod to the Breakfast Club. At first I thought it reminded me of the movie updated and given a horrorish twist, but then they actually reference 'the brain, jock, princess, and the criminal'. Not sure how I feel as that is just such a classic.

Any thoughts on why (view spoiler)[someone is posting that they are the killer? It seems like it would be easier to get away with it if they just didn't say anything. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Interesting question Stacy. I think the killer might not be among the 4 kids who were in detention with Simon. The blog post made it look like the killer was in the room when Simon died, which throws suspicion towards the 4 kids. The unpublished entry in Simons laptop also showed that all 4 of them had a motive. So that might be killer's strategy behind the blog. Get the people Simon is going to post about in a room with him, kill him there, write a blog to further reinstate that the killer was in the room when he died. No one is gonna look past the 4 kids. I don't know why but I also suspect Mr. Avery. Who is to say Simon wouldn't include teachers in his Gossip app? And I am sure that a secret about a teacher would be more damning and damaging than a student's secret. (hide spoiler)]

stacy, haha I understand. I am not even sure how anyone manages to find anything in googread groups. I feel the interface is not very user friendly. that's why replying to this after 1 month.

I already finished reading it and thought the Book was fine. I definitely didn't predict the ending, so that was good. to be honest, I can't recollect much at this point. But I know I enjoyed the ending
