ABANDONED. Daughter and dad problems

So the main parts I recall are the daughter going to meet her dad who she’s estranged from I think he left her mum at there favorite cafe but half way through the meal he bring his new woman out who I’m sure is younger than him the daughter is mad as hell and leaves feeling ambushed, the dad I think goes to her village to speak to her another day to apologise and they sit on an bench there talking, ad not convinced it’s same book but hope it is but think the girl at one point goes to stay with her mum when her man/men don’t know where is it but they turn up anyway please help
