Alena sighs and nods "I haven't even had an interview yet," she says

The king walks into the library and over to Kane. "Kane, are you ready for your interview?"

Kane froze slightly. "I...guess?" He wasn't prepared for there to be an interview, but it would get him out of this argument with Kai, so why not?

"Okay, don't be stressed, just answer whatever naturally comes to your mind. Name, age, and place you're from?"

"Kane Levett, nineteen years old. I'm from Midston." He said.

(Yeah totally XD) "Okay, and what are your feelings toward the prince?"

"Well, I haven't met him yet, so I don't know." Keep your answers simple. He doesn't have to know everything.

Kane paused for a moment. "I'd probably make things better for the lower Castes." He said. "People are more than a number, and they all deserve to live safely." His tone was pretty neutral, carefully devoid of most emotion.

"Why do you want to win the Selection?"

"I'm figuring that out as I go." Kane shrugged. "Somebody else signed me up."

"Why do you think you are the best for the prince?"

"I don't," Was all Kane said.

"Okay, and last question, what is your backstory?"

"I'm... from the seventh caste. Just a laborer." Kane said, leaving out the whole thing about him running away from his family and all that.

“Okay.....” says the king, he can tell that Kane left out a lot of stuff in all of the questions, “well thank you!”

"You're welcome." Kane nodded. He stood up and left the library.
