October 7th: TL:DR
For some reason the book community has deemed it a sin to watch the movie if you haven’t read the book. This week we’re acknowledging the times we’ve watched an adaptation without having read the source material, as in it’s today and you haven’t read it. Even if you are someone who always reads the book first I’m sure that there is something out there that you have seen and maybe didn’t realise it was even a book. Think classics and memoirs, or even comics. I’ve watched Barbie: A Christmas Carol, but I ain’t ever read Dickens.
October 14th: Fairly Local
Share some books set/authors from/bloggers/creators from your state/province or country. If you’re spoiled for choice, you could even narrow it down to your city, I feel like NYC it wouldn’t even be a stretch to narrow it down to a borough.
October 21st: Books That Took You the Longest to Finish
This is one of Samantha’s topics from October 2016.
These are the books that you had on your nightstand "in progress" for months or years. The books that you took weeks to read because they put you in a slump. Those books that were an uphill battle. These are books you started and actually read, not books you've just had on your shelf the longest.
October 28th: Spoopy Times
These are your top Halloween reads. Maybe they’re horror or thriller or goth, or maybe they’re romances set during Halloween. If you don’t have books to share, maybe you can share movies or Halloween episodes instead.
Feel free to switch topics around, or do archived topics instead. There’s also a discussion to suggest future topics.
