Banned Book Week read

Julie is a 13 year old Yupik girl from Alaska (incorrectly called Inuit by some, but both the Yupk and the Inuit are indigenous to the polar regions) who has left her husband and ends up lost on the Tundra, hungry. She draws on memories of her father's stories of befriending wolves who brought him home and is slowly accepted by the pack. This isn't the first book I have read about people living with or near wolves, since I read Farley Mowatt's Never Cry Wolf when I was growing up (my dad being a fan of Mowatt's books) among others, and I have also read books about survival in the arctic before. But I am not sure that I have ever read one for this target audience and I thought that George captured it well for young readers.
