The main character is a girl, and there is a whole lot going on about the marsh and the women who lives in a house there. I think that it might be by Dean Koontz, but I have never been able to find it. I know that it is a scary/mystery type story. Any help would be great.

theres a john saul book called darkness that takes place in a swamp.. i read it a million years ago so im not too certain of details - but its a girl and a swamp for sure.
