I wasn't sure at the beginning if I would like this book but I ended up really liking it.

When Jace was having dreams about stabbing Clary, I was kinda annoyed because they can FINALLY be together so I was like "There better be a good explanation for this" I didn't want it to seem like drama for the sake of drama.

Then as the plot unfolded a bit more with all the Lilith stuff, I liked the direction the story went and I wasn't upset anymore or feeling like it was just drama for the sake of drama (hide spoiler)]

Sorry, Ruthie...I got a little twisted around in my books for the month and am starting this book by Wednesday this week!! I should have it done by the end of the weekend! 😊

I am about 50% through the book and:
(view spoiler)[ I am liking this more than I thought I would! Clary really annoyed me in the first trilogy but I do have to remember she is young...I keep saying to myself: Clary is a teenager, Clary is a teenager :) The Clary/Jace relationship has a lot more to do with something other than teenage angst, I have a feeling...

I love that the story is focussing on Simon and his dealing with becoming a vampire! The fact that Simon has the Mark and is a Daylighter makes him so much more than "an ordinary vampire" :)

So interesting how Cassandra Clare brings Angels and Demons (along with biblical references) into the world of vampires/werewolves...it is such a unique concept, I think! I really enjoy reading her introductions to her books and I really like getting more history in the Shadowhunter world in this book!

I am going to try to finish this book by tomorrow...it is getting to the point where it is hard to put down ;)

I finished today:
(view spoiler)[ I really liked all of the Shadowhunter and Angel/Demon history in this (Lilith and the fact that she was Adam's first wife that was banished from the Garden of Eden was very intriguing)! I also liked that it focused on Simon and his coming to terms with being a vampire...he is one of my favorite characters. The relationships of others have started to be defined (Simon/Isabell??, Magnus/Alec, Mai/Jordan??) but I can see more drama for Clary/Jace...sigh However it is a good set up for the next two books! I enjoyed this one more that the former three! :) (hide spoiler)]

Yes I totally agree! I have to keep reminding myself about Clary being so young too. This one was definitely better. The last of the original trilogy and this one are my fave's so far. I also enjoyed more of the backstory and more focus on Simon and some relationship defining for multiple characters. It makes me excited to read the upcoming books! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
