Same here, I finished this end of last month, but haven't quite got around to watching the show yet
I am halfway through the book. Just finished chapter 10. I have to say that I'm a little disappointed. I expected more of Izzy. But I do like the stark contrast between the "Shaker way" and the "Mia way" of life. It does a good job of representing the two extremes of civilization. And now that their lives are intertwined, I'm curious about the outcome.
I am done with the book. I liked the story but it isnt a 5/5 book in my opinion. I also watched the series, which I didnt like. They changed a lot of the things.
I read 5 more chapters and I have to agree with Chantal that it isn't a 5/5 book no matter what the remaining 5 chapters contain.I like the story but can't feel/relate to any of the characters- either because they are all impractically extreme or their side of the story(with the exception of Mia) is not emotionally visible
As I began reading the last 5 chapters, it dawned on me how apt the title of the book was. There were little fires burning everywhere with lots of possibilities for things to explode. It was over-all a good book, not a 5 but still good enough. It kept my interest going throughout. I'd recommend people to read it
I just finished and I agree with you guys. Its a good story byt not 5/5. It kept me interested and every time I sat down to read it flowed well. Its the type of book you can read in a day.
I just though it was a bit shallow and "not enough".I think I was expecting something more like Liane Moriarty's Big Little Lies.

Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!
Mark spoilers by placing {spoiler} before the text and {/spoiler} after the text but use the < and > instead of the { and }.
Happy Buddy Reading!
