Oye... someone needs to tackle the monstrosity that is Louis L'Amour... Apparently no one has gotten around to combining all of those! They're a mess!
I got a bunch of them..... Wouldn't mind if someone double-checked... it IS 2 am, after all!
I got most of him. I'll have to go back and finish cleaning up things but he's basically in order, I think. He was nowhere near as challenging as many other authors. (I don't even want to mention some names here in case I develop a strong urge to go try to work on them.)
Clear your mind Lisa. Everything on GR is in PERFECT order. Go read a book now. ;)
Anyway, this is another one of those where a user has added a bunch of new editions unnecessarily. Most are blank editions with no ISBN and just need to be combined then deleted. I'd started working on those when I realized the problem was a bit bigger. Some of the editions added have author names misspelled (Darr instead of Carr...Paxon instead of Paxson, etc) so those need to be "translated," corrected then combined and deleted.
Worse, though, is that I discovered at least a couple of the books on the person's shelf that have ISBNs listed and would appear fine are actually bogus as well. Some where obvious, a colon placed in the ISBN, but another one had one number in the ISBN changed (0688108210 vs 0688105210).
Luckily the person only has 67 books on their shelf but it looks like all of them need to be looked at and validated. I did maybe 10 or so, but don't have time to the rest.
The person probably should be PM'd as well, I suppose.
