109. Read 6 5 books with or without facial hair on a male cover model. Teams decide
- facial hair on male model

Read: 10/27
Pages: 303/GR
Rating: 4 Stars
Qualifies: See cover above
Review: This one kept me glued from the beginning. It focused on Felix and Jude and the mafia connection to an auto dealership in Savannah. The mystery was intriguing, but I loved the second chance romance happening between Felix and Jude even more. Felix is so uptight and a bit bitter about their past, but Jude is persistent and finally gets him to listen and understand. Their reunion is the best part of the story. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series.

Scratch that, I just saw that Laura has it all ready to go on our tracking post, so I'll leave it with you Laura 😊

all checked in again:-)

I looked but didn't see any books that I wanted to vote for. Some of them I had never heard of. I wonder how they pick the ones they put up for nomination.

We had pretty men on the cover, I think that was a major motivator.. at least it was for me.

Here is Task 23:
79. Read
As a team, select a romance trope and then read 5 books that have that trope. Remember to let me know how you know the books qualify - I need to know where to look to confirm your books. The qualification can come from the title, precis, tags or lists, please include the qualifying info and links as necessary in your completion posts.

- boss/employee

Read: Oct 28
Pages: 254 kindle edition
Rating: 3 stars
Qualifies: from the precis"Her Irish Boss is a humorous love story between a sassy, messy waitress and her sexy, moody boss. "
Review: Not spectacular, not boring, just a cute, little story about a waitress and her boss who fall for each other. Brogan's brothers add a little spice to the mix.

79. Read 5 books that have the same romance trope, teams decide which trope.

Read: 10/28
Pages: 286/GR
Rating: 4 Stars
Qualifies: from precis: "Is it really wrong to want to murder your boss? Dylan has worked for Gabe for two years."
Review: This was a re-read for me, but it's been quite a while since I read it last so I had forgotten a lot of the story. It was a pleasure to dive in and get to know these characters all over again. Dylan is a crack up and a perfect match for Gabe. It was a lot of fun watching these two dance around each other and then finally come together and find their HEA.

The Billionaire Boss Next Door

Read: 29th October
Pages: 317
Rating: 3 stars
Qualifies: Boss in the title or in precis "My new boss has it all. In spades."
Review: This started off reaaally well, I was getting into it. Really enjoying the banter between them and then it sort of fizzled out. There is slow burn and then its just boring, not enough tension not enough chemistry and I got a little bored by it all. The story is fine if again a little underwhelming.
I'm not sorry I read this book but I doubt I'll read this again.

CEO Daddy
Read:29th October
Pages: 320
Rating: 2 stars
Qualifies: Tagged Boss
Review: I don't know whats going on today but this book was just blergh. I started reading this last night but put it down with the intention of dnfing it, but I thought nope give it another go. I honestly wish I'd kept my initial instinct and given up on this.
Its just so odd. There is no chemistry between these two, hes struggling a lot in life which just isn't sexy I don't care if its realistic but if I pick up a book about a boss and nanny I want chemistry and fireworks not barely lit embers. Also why would you hire a random woman on the street, and let her nanny your great grandchild when she knows nothing about babies? She was walking a dog I'm pretty sure they're not the same thing...

-employee/boss

read: Oct 29
pages: 340 kindle edition
rating: 4 stars
qualifies: title- Boss I Love to Hate: An Office Romance
review: I thought this one was cute, funny and just a fun read. I liked how the relationship progressed from dislike/hate to like/love. I enjoyed seeing Brad's softer side. I 'm definitely going to continue reading to see how Mason's story turns out.

Awesome! Though.. they get their new task today and we just finished and have to wait :-(
If we can keep our pace we hopefully can catch them before the challenge ends. Even more impressive is that we are doing it without the shorter books.
Megan, when this is over you will have to look for the signups for The Bachelor Team Challenge. ( random assignment of teams) I enjoyed playing last time (it's how Alicia & I "e-met") but I think it will be even better this round as I'm hoping it will be the only challenge I 'm participating in besides our pairs challenge.
Here is a link to the past challenge if you wanted to check it out beforehand:-)

Here is Task 24:
72. Read
Select a teammate and everyone reads a book initially published in the decade of their birth. Remember to use the initial publication date for this task. If there is a date at the top of the editions page use that, otherwise the qualification would come from the earliest dated English language edition. Please list the teammate and decade in your completion posts.

Danielle Steel, Nora Roberts, Sandra Brown, Linda Lael Miller
Fern Michaels
Janet Daily

Gone for a shorter book sorry!! Accidental Baby published first in 1999

This was definitely a harder task to find a book to fit. I should have just gone to the library and picked one out🤔 I finally found a Fern Michaels book I’ll read. Sins of the Flesh

Romance books written in the 80's & 90's are not readily available as an ebook from my library.

72. Read 3 books published in the decade of a teammate's birth, team decides which teammate.

Read: 10/30
Pages: 253/GR
Rating: 3 Stars
Qualifies: Published 8/1/92 (Megan's decade 1990s)
Review: Like many of Linda Howard's earlier books, the hero in this story was super dominant, masculine, and perfect at everything he does. What was a bit different is that the heroine was also very dominant and perfect at everything she does. It made for an interesting dynamic between them. I enjoyed this reread, and I will probably go ahead and reread the rest of the books in the series now.

Review: Thankfully, this was a short book that I didn't have to suffer too long. I'm really not a fan of miscommunication as the conflict in a book and this one had it in spades.

Review: I wanted to love this but I just was so disappointed from start to finish with this book.. this author is so hit and miss. Was such a drag for such a short book.

I hope my review and rating didn't influence yours?
Unfortunately, I didn't like it. Both characters were so unrelatable. Hard to believe I read books like that all the time when I was a teenager. The good news... romance books have improved.

You can find the year everyone joined RRRC (not GR) in the member list for the group. As a team, decide which teammate you are using for this task. For this task you will be using the initial publication date for your qualification. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page use it, otherwise the qualification would be from the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format. Please include the selected teammate and the year they joined RRRC in your completion posts.
