ok, I didn't realize it was 8 books for holiday. Hazel, CB have you found any yet? Also, Laura do you have another to read or no?
Sorry I have not checked in - yesterday I was too busy watching and reading the news, and celebrating.Thank you for forwarding that list, Sass - I literally went through the 25 pages it would allow me to and finally found a book that is over 150 pages that I think will be ok to read. Going to give
a try.Sass, I know you love the In Death series, and I saw Thankless in Death on that list, like around page 21 or so.

Review: I really enjoyed this book! It is HR and features Nick a known rake and Penelope who is classed as a lady chemist. Penelope is celebrating success with her men’s scent Duke which when worn is meant to cause women to fall in love and give the ordinary man a chance. Nick has many issues with this as he has worked hard for his reputation and takes these to Penelope. She sees an opportunity to trial her new female scent Duchess and if it can work on a rake and someone as ordinary as her then she has another success on her hands. Flirty and fun!

I’ll be the first to admit I can’t stand holiday romances, although thankfully this one was not overtly so. My issues with the book had more to do with it just felt like it was trying too hard and was over the top annoying in the constant Bradford food obsession, Necie’s beyond ridiculous injury-prone klutziness, and her grandfather’s habitual hiding and sneaking of sweets. Once or twice probably would have been cute - on practically every page it’s eye-rolling and annoying.
Well, I guess that’s the end of this challenge, ladies - again, this has been an incredible team, and I had so much fun. Hope to see you all on other challenges and around GR soon!BTW - we came in 7th, not bad!

This one was even more over the top than the first two. I didn't think that was possible but there it is. But I still enjoyed it. Noel's family was crazy as usual and Sam was a saint to put up with it. And of course they couldn't get married in any normal way.
But, in the end it worked out, eventually. I did knock it down a bit because I thought the issue with Sam's "problem" was so blown out of proportion even for them.
