Review: YAY! I've been wanting Frank's book for a good while now...but woah. That had a lot more angst than I was expecting. (Seriously, it's been years already...I need to start reading other people's reviews.)
Still loving the premise, the characters and the writing, even if it's starting to get a little heavy on the feelz. Because it's hot like fire. I mean, I knew I was a Uniform!Whore, but I might have discovered another new kink. (Enlightening week I'm having!)
I somehow managed to skip this one so I guess that means a re-read of Payoff and If It Drives (both of which I liked, so no biggie) before reading the final book in the series.

LOL, I fell asleep after finishing this one, so sorry! Also, I think you're psychic 'cause I was posting at the same time you asked.
(Whatever this is - thankfully not Covid - is kicking my butt. So. Tired.)

No hurry, I'm not waiting for corrections yet - that is coming soon though. Please correct to the first edition Kindle page count. Thanks!
I'm glad the test was negative, though sorry you are still sick!

88. Read 6 books with a boat, plane, car or motorcycle on the cover, teams decide which.
You can use any edition's cover to qualify, but remember to use the first edition Kindle page count. Please include in your completion post the teams selection and your qualifying cover.

Does anybody have this to lend?

Its not my usual type of book bit its intriguing. I cant get it from Amazon

Might take me some time to find a book for this one :) Will do some trawling soon :)

I'm glad the test was negative, though sorry you are still sick."
Done. LOL, I just used the first book listed because that's usually the first edition Kindle. Forgot that wasn't the case until recently-ish.
And thank you everyone for the well wishes. I had to skip the funeral/memorial for my SigO's brother today because most of the family is in that vulnerable demographic (elderly, immune compromised, etc.), and even though I got the results back in time to drive down to Tucson last night, I still didn't want to possibly make anyone else sick and make them susceptible to covid.

I didn't read the first in the series so I missed some stuff. That said, I'm sure it wasn't all that deep so no big loss. We got some danger and suspense but mostly just an MC romance where the two aren't supposed to be together...blah, blah.

A nice gay for you. Childhood friends who are parted when one moves away to college.
Following the break up of a 5 year relationship, Alex is back in Chicago with his friend Gavin.
After Alex falls into a bonfire and burns his bum, Gavin looks after him and questions as to whether he might be gay.

LOL. That time I forgot I'd sync'd the car bluetooth to my phone...while listening that opening scene to His Boy.

I'm not gonna get mine done for about 12 hours. I not only stayed up late to watch a concert, but I re-watched 2x more and now I need to sleeeeeeeep!

This was really good. I wish I'd read it closer to The Protector so I could just continue the story instead of trying to remember. Memory...not my biggest asset. Anyways, I adored their relationship. Like crazy adored. Not super warm and fuzzy but genuine. There was a lot going on and a lot of people involved in this one so definitely not a standalone. Lots of intrigue, lots of questions but underneath it all was just Ty and Chase. Great read.

Although this is a different couple to book 1, they are friends and so we get some Alex and Gavin cameos.
This book centers o Phillip and Ash. Again childhood best friends who lose touch and then reconnect when Ash moves back to Chicago. Another nice GFY story.

Its been a while since I read this story and I can't remember what I rated it, but my memory says the 3 star mark. Well, I enjoyed it more this time for sure. Whilst it has Ford's signature violence, it doesn't dominate with most of it off page or in memories. The MCs are super sweet with each other and it does feel like that have found their other half. And Zig is great - she really lifts the story and lightens some of the drama :)
Narrated by Spencer Goss - solid 4 star performance. I'm not sure why I don't hear more books read by him...

Review: Okay, first off, I was 7 in 1976 and shelving this as historical was painful. Of course, that's my reaction every time it happens. (Looking at you Pinx series.)
Anywho, I liked this coming of age story, especially as it was a hitchhiking protagonist trying to get West to begin a different life. (Did the same, boo...only I missed out on the sexual adventure as all my rides were like dads who only let me leave with another trucker after first checking him, his cab and his log book out. Weird, right?) But there was something about the writing that didn't connect with me. I didn't mind the almost pornworthy sex - it felt apropos of the journey and time period - just how it was written I guess? This isn't first time I've had a writing-disconnect with the author, so maybe she's just not my jam? It happens. 3rd strike though so I'm prolly not going to try again.

Dont worry Michelle. Hope you are feeling better.

I do too! Of course, I still wait to pick until my other challenges post their prompts...

I like 1 or 9"
As long as it's not #3 I'm good...I'll go with the majority.

Review:
I rated this 3 stars originally and the reasons remain valid: an MC (Adrian) who doesn't truly believe in himself despite his protestations to others and himself, however it didn't bother me as much as on the first reading. I won't change the GR ratings because those observations remain valid :)
Still enjoyed it though - and the narration. Crisden did an excellent job.

Really, really enjoyed this book and all it's characters. Barnaby Birtwistle...what a name. Anyways, Barnaby and Travis were the cutest. Loved how shy, teacher Barnaby was quite the dirty, badass in the bedroom. Hot! Loved the poetry in the book, loved the hockey and loved Jack and Grady. Hoping they have a book I can read. Not all sweet and sappy but dealing with their real life issues. Excellent read.
