If you are unable to join us for the Zoom discussion on Sep 14th (register here: https://bethlehem.librarycalendar.com... ) than please feel free list your thoughts here to the questions that follow.
1. What was your initial reaction to the book? Did it hook you immediately, or take some time to get into?
My take: I was intrigued from the beginning with the book and the topic it was about to explore. I really wasn't sure where it was going to go but I was very interested in discovering where it ended.
2. How did the structure of the book affect the story?
My take: I liked the way the book was broken into parts, it really allowed me to think over a section more deeply before reading the next part. I appreciated the layering effect that was created as the book progressed.
3. Did the book change your opinion or perspective about anything? Do you feel different now than you did before you read it?
My take: For me this book resonated with stuff that I already believed about how people relate to others in society. I often think we are all prone to judge people too quickly based on our own limited viewpoints or experiences with others. So in short, nope, it did not change my feelings but it did reinforce some of my feelings.
4. If you got the chance to ask the author of this book one question, what would it be?
My take: Honestly, I am not sure. I really cannot think of how to distill all my thoughts on this to just one question. Brevity is definitely not something that comes easy to me, LOL.
Are there other points that you would like to discuss? If so, please feel free to list them here. Thanks, Michelle
