Erebos question

Erebos und Suarez' Daemon sind sich so ähnlich, dass ich schon bezweifel, dass das Buch unabhängig entstanden ist (Daemon erschien 2006, Erebos 2010).

Beide spielen im Titel auf griechische Mythologie an (siehe: Erebos, Daemon).
In beiden fließen virtuelle Welt & physische Welt ineinander über.
Und in beiden stirbt ein Spieleentwickler, der vor seinem Tod ein Spiel entwickelt hat, das nach seinem Tod Menschen zu Aufträgen & Morden in der realen Welt rekrutiert...

Ist diese Ähnlichkeit Zufall, hat sich die Autorin vielleicht sogar dazu geäußert (da das eine interessante Grundidee ist, muss es ja nicht unbedingt verwerflich sein diese für einen Jugendroman aufzugreifen) ?

Erebos and Daniel Suarez' Daemon are so similar that I doubt that it was created entirely independently (Daemon was first published 2006, Erebos 2010).

Both allude to greek mythology in their title (see: Erebos, Daemon).
In both books the virtual world and the physical melt into one another.
And in both a game developer dies who, before his death, constructed a game that recruits people in the real world to fulfill quests & killings after his death.

Is that similarity just coincidence or did the author maybe even do a statement on that (as it's a quite interesting basic idea it doesn't need to be reprehensible to pick it up for a Young-Adult book)?
