Ok. Have you tried to reach her via PM? She signed up after teams were formed, so she might not have seen that she got a spot right away.

Yes, you can use it for 0. If you get a 1.5 or 2.5 you could use those for 1 and 2 respectively, and so on.

Books have to be started after the roll.
The loophole people occasionally use to get around this is starting a book over from the beginning so they can count it... or so they claim, anyway. Provided they claim it convincingly, we generally choose to believe them, because innocent until proven guilty and whatnot. ;)

Celia Buell (semi hiatus) (celiareadsbooks) for a "Author letter" prompt, can the letter be the second name in a hyphenated last name? for instance could June Eric-Udorie count for J, E, and U, or only for J and E?

Oh, this is a good one we've never had before!
I think for the sake of consistency, it should only count for J and E as the first letter in the second name in a hyphenated first name wouldn't work either.

Raluca (ral003) | 63 comments " One point can be earned for starting and finishing a series. There must be at least 4 books in that series. Series + spin-off totalling ≥4 books also counts. For series with >9 books, point will be awarded for reading books 1-9. For still ongoing series, all books published to date (OR up to #9 in longer series) must be read.~ No re-reads on this one. "

What if the books are reading with alternative task and/or out of order, are still counting?

message 71: by Denise, Manufacturing Director (new)

Denise (destiny_chan) | 7414 comments Mod
Yes. As long as all books from that series are read as part of SS they count.

Paula Reyes Wagner (paurw) | 300 comments Hello Denise, Jane from Team 6 has to drop out of the challenge, so we need a back up player.
What do we do for this week's reviews?

message 73: by Denise, Manufacturing Director (new)

Denise (destiny_chan) | 7414 comments Mod
Since we're getting close to this week's deadline, just submit the remaining five team members' reviews and you're good to go. I'll get you a back-up player to join in with the next roll.

Denise (destiny_chan) | 7414 comments Mod
After. You can earn it with the book read for the spot you land on with tomorrow's roll.

~Melissa~ | 5253 comments I know I should know the answer with how many times I've played but I can't remember

for a 0 - can we read a 1st in series or it has to be a stand alone?
So if we land on 60 - #6, #60, stand alone and 1st in series or just the first three?
Thanks

message 79: by Denise, Manufacturing Director (last edited Oct 31, 2020 03:18AM) (new)

Denise (destiny_chan) | 7414 comments Mod
Only standalones for 0, so just the first three options plus the alternate for spot 60.
Or 0.5 if it's long enough.

Thanks for the clarification ~ I found a spooky stand alone

I'm on the app right now and can't post links, but you can find a bunch of examples on my currently reading shelf. Basically, anything that follows the "Title: Subtitle" format.

Unfortunately, she wouldn't be the first...
If she misses the deadline a second time, she will be disqualified - at which point, provided all remaining players on the team have posted their reviews on time, you will be able to roll and continue. So worst case scenario for the team is that you'll have to wait out the deadline if she doesn't turn up and then continue as a five-player team since I'm currently out of back-up players.

Celia Buell (semi hiatus) (celiareadsbooks) Will you count either of these covers for a lamp on the cover? (alternate for #73)

Till Midnight (Reversed Retellings, #1) by Aya Ling Dog Days of Murder (Country Cottage Mysteries #2) by Addison Moore

Yes, both #1 and #10 are fine. Don't forget you can also use standalones for 1 or 0.

Mostly people tend to stop playing once a team has claimed the win. Some teams choose to at least finish out their last roll, but if you want to, you can absolutely keep going until your team has crossed the finish line. I tend to think it's a shame so many stop immediately when the winner is announced, but I guess they don't see a point in continuing. It is a little like breaking off a marathon with a couple of miles left to go just because someone else crossed the finish line first though, isn't it? :)
