But he himself traveled a day’s journey into the wilderness, and he came and sat down under a juniper tree and asked that he might die. He said, “It is enough; now, O Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers.” (1 Kings 19:3,4)
Note: I also integrated mythos from the Grimm Brothers story, The Juniper Tree.

Chosen by a higher power to be the guardian, sheathing the protectors of the realm, who are imbued with God-given abilities. The appointed "deities" are left to their own devices in a battle against evil humans and corrupted "deities" who seek to assassinate the protectors of the Tree of Life ("God") to become Gods themselves.
Note: My interpretation of God is personified in a giant tree, since God rarely speaks directly to humans, due to nepotism.

After the trilogy, I am planning to bring on artists and composers to make the series a choose-your-own-adventure, visual novel game. The first installment is available on FictionPress: https://www.fictionpress.com/u/114321...

I would appreciate feedback on the story, if you read the first chapter or finish the whole book, please leave feedback, so that I can improve the trilogy overall. Thank you!
