Is this the best time, or worst time to be publishing or finding a new book to read?

For finding a book to read, the times are good since self-publishing became widespread, and that won't get worse. With millions of books to choose from...

As for publishing, there won't likely ever be as good time again as it was at the beginning or e-readers - when there was much less competition.

Maybe audiobooks are still a bit of new frontier? There is certainly a barrier to entry if you want to record your own.
