Hello! I'm currently unpublished, but am editing what I hope to be my first novel! It's a steampunk/fantasy story. A group of friends is trying to make their way to a better home, when they are kidnapped by pirates.

Em, is writeon similar to Wattpad? Or does it gives you the chance to seel your books as self published?

It's currently in beta form, so I think it will become a self-publishing platform of sorts. It is under Amazon. But right now they haven't introduced anything of the sorts.

I found the critiques at scribophile to be, on the whole, a bit more in-depth/advanced than at critiquecircle.

Have you checked out that site?
