What was up with Ronak's secret affair?

In the book, Ronak's mother assumed her son was having a secret affair on his wife because he showed up on Christmas without her, and on other occasions. The mother went as far as to snooping on his computer.

So, my question is. Was he having an affair?

I didn't like how the author left the matter open for the reader to draw their own conclusion.
