I worked with her to copy edit my historical fiction novel. I had already written four drafts and had several Beta Readers read my story. I felt like I needed another professional set of eyes on my grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting, and overall story pace.
Gabby reviewed my (lengthy) manuscript in 3 weeks. She provided me with an editorial letter highlighting the strengths and areas of suggested improvement and a copy of my draft with in-line edits.
Overall, her work on my novel is a gift I could not have anticipated.
Her guidance around building suspense, show vs. tell, and passive voice are insightful and I learned so much re: grammar and punctuation to help my story flow better for a reader. Not being an English major, or having written a novel before, I greatly appreciated her input.
I'd work with Gabby again and would recommend her services.
Thank you, Gabby.

Gabby went above and beyond to make sure my book was proofread and formatted correctly. She was willing to work in a different than normal format that I needed, and was also efficient and thorough.
Highly highly recommend and will be using her for my next book.

I'm now taking clients for July and August for beta reading, proofreading and copy editing.

Hi Gabby,
Would you be interested in beta reading a short story just under 10k words that is intended to be a add-on reader magnet at the end of a main story? It is a YA/NA fantasy set in an area similar to ancient Persia. It's a continuing story about a brother and sister who have come in possession of a djinn's lamp and are on the run from an evil emperor. This short story is a sideline adventure in which they face a strange showman and his 'djinn'.
If you are interested and have any time this summer for reading it, please let me know.
Thank you!

Thank you for the edits and feedback Gabby!

I found her beta feedback incredibly helpful, positive and constructive. While many of her comments were the familar type of what was wrong and what was good, what I really appreciated was that she identified my strengths, and then suggested places where I could do more of that thing I was already good at, to further enhance my work. In my case, this is scene descriptors in historical settings. I really appreciated the additional dimension that this brought to how I revised my MS.
I also had my MS copy edited by Gabby, and found her work to the high standard that I expect from a copy edit. I always feel that copy is the hardest form of editing, because it requires the editor to straighten out problems without altering the authors voice. I felt that Gabby really understood 'my' style, and also helped make the overall tone and legibility of my work stronger.
I have just sent her my MS to proof read, and know she will do a great job, and I look forward to working with her in the future.

She did a really good and quick job - I wish I had asked her to look at it ages ago.
It's not an easy task going through 142k manuscript. I commend Gabby for taking on this beta-reader role. She was insightful, constructive in her feedback. It will help my writing improve, and I am so grateful that I found her. I definitely will be working with her in the future. I highly recommend her services.

I will totally work with her again!

She's good at what she does. Also, her rates are reasonable and she's pleasant to work with.

I especially love that in her summary not only talks about my writing but she also provides comments to teach the 'why' behind her changes.
I feel like my writing has developed since working with Gabby and I look forward to more projects in the future!

Highly recommend her for all your editing needs xx
