I've only read the first two and forgot about them. I see some books on the horizon that I'm going to need to read. These were good.

Week #4 - Option 1
Book: Sultry with a Twist
Author: Macy Beckett
Pages: 314 pages
Date Read: 29/09/2020
Rating: 4 stars
I really liked this book, I'm a sucker for second chance/small town romances. June and Luke were good characters, their chemistry was great and the pace kept me occupied throughout. Grandma Prudence relationship with both of them was so different but sweet in their own ways and even though they didn't agree with everything she believed in, they respected each other enough to follow their own paths. The only thing that bothered me was towards the end when (view spoiler)

Week #4 ~ Option 1
Hot Head by Damon Suede
Read: 9/30/20
Rating: 2.5 stars
Review:
This book should have been titled "Griff's Head" because that is where you spend the majority of the story. So much internal dialogue. And this book may have the looooongest sex scenes ever written. But it is between two hot firemen...one Italian and one a kilt-wearing Ginger. So yeah, that's about the extent of it.

Liz was raised by her mother who organized every aspect of her life even before she was born. She picked the perfect sperm donor with every quality she needed for the perfect genetic specimen. The one time she wanted to be a normal teenager she witness a murder of her new friend by a mafia hit. There were so many twist and turns, action mystery and finally she found someone to love her for the first time in her life. I definitely recommend this book Nora Roberts outdid herself.

Book: Archer's Voice
Read: 10/02/20
Review
What an emotionally charged read! OMG! Archer's Voice is one of those stories that had be from the very beginning. I knew right away that Archer's and Bree's story was going to be a difficult one for me emotionally.
I don't want to give away one iota of this story except, I guess, to say that the history of both Archer and Bree and how they "fit" together, helping each other through their past heartaches was incredibly touching. Both suffered the loss of loved one's and themselves in different ways and to different degrees. These two were absolutely made for each other! I loved them both and I am so glad they found each other and were able to be just what the other needed. OMG.

Natalie and T J were a great couple. Lots of Chemistry, a lot of trials and tribulations. T .J had a lot of abuse and trust issues and Natalie was just too nice and used by her so called boyfriend who was injured by T. J. I definitely would recommend this series.

This was a brilliant book, captivating from start to finish. A retelling of the tale of Circe, the witch goddess who till now I only knew of briefly as the one who turned men into pigs. But this book is so much more. Great writing, brilliant character, amazing plot lines. I have not met another character that deserved to have her story told. I loved it!

Week #5 ~ Option 2
Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover
Read: 10/7/20
Rating: 5+ stars
Review:
I just finished this masterpiece and I'm not sure I'm ready to write about it. I was hooked from the very beginning and it never let me go. I didn't want the story to end. Beyah and Samson's life stories are heart wrenching on their own and their connection is intense, but this story is about so much more than Beyah and Sampson. I can't remember the last time I related to a character as much as I related to Beyah. Her thoughts, feelings, and interactions with her father and about her mother felt like they were ripped right out of my soul. I'm going to need time to recover from this one, but I also want to jump right back into the beginning and read it all over again.

Hoover....why you keep me up late at night when I'm supposed to be sleeping?!? Oh yeah last night I put it down because I needed to savor it so I rushed home from work, changed my clothes, poured me a drink, and dove in headfirst. Both Beyah and Samson had me totally wrapped into the story. I loved finding out secrets and pasts. I need to know more and I keep looking at my kindle like ummm you not going to give me more. I needs more.... So many people are reading it and I want to write more and scream it out but at the same time I don't want to ruin it for all you people that still NEED to read this book. :)

I'm all over the place with how to rate this book. Most of the writing had me feeling like it may have been a debut novel written by a late teens/early twenties-something based on their high school journals about the trials, tribulations, assumptions, hopes and fears about coming out to parents, teammates, friends, and the world at large. All the basic elements were there for a great story; it just needs some depth and polishing. Lane exhibited SEVERAL social quirks and mannerisms that, myself having a grown child (same age as Lane, in fact) on the high-functioning end of the autism spectrum, I felt the author was strongly hinting at, but never came right out and mentioned ASDs at all. There instead was an underlying current, through the whole story, of "we're all so great because we accept and love Lane even though he's really freaking weird, AND as long as we can keep making fun of him for his oddness," and this really started to grate on me. Lane had it hard enough without the people who claimed to love him feel like they should be praised for putting up with him. BUT, I did find myself in love with these characters, and I'm HUGE sucker for a romance story that does NOT have the couple completely falling to pieces at the 90% mark and miraculously coming back together with a nice, neat, forgiving package but instead sees them facing some adversity solidly together.
