Amanda | 36 comments In the current series I'm reading, one of the main characters just found out who his father was and I was really enjoying seeing their interactions throughout the book - even though he kind of hated his father. The interactions were still sweet though, with his father being so amazed at the fact he had a son and instantly wanting to protect him, despite what his son thought of him.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for any fantasy series where a female lead meets her father at some point in the series. Maybe she hates him, maybe he's distraught he never met her, or maybe they get along perfecrly. It doesn't matter, but if anyone has read any YA fantasy series with this theme then I'd be very grateful if you'd share.

Thanks!

Lynn (lynnbar) | 126 comments I’m not sure if this series is YA or not but hopefully, should you look it up here, you’ll be able to decide.

Maria B Snyder has a series starting with Poison Study. In the second book the female lead meets her father for the first time that she can remember. Sorry about the spoiler that she survives the first book.

I really loved both of these series and I think they fit the meeting her father theme.

This next one isn't considered YA, but I still think it's worth mentioning.

MJ | 1617 comments Soulbound is the first in a series. The h is early twenties and makes a promise to her dying mother to take a message to her unknown father... who is on the elves home world.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber. It only happens in the last book, FInale, though.

Esme | 13 comments You may likely have read it already- but in the Throne of Glass series there is such an interesting/emotionally complex relationship with a son and his newly discovered father- although it isn’t until maybe the 4th book I think that you read about them!!
