A lot of mine were classics too, not sure the year of publication is a particularly significant issue for me.

That’s totally fair. If we were to hypothetically revive the BTBA as a group, for fun or otherwise, is there a method for assembling a longlist that doesn’t involve ranking books?
It's hard to gauge whether there is genuine interest in this or not. We've been talking about it off and on for over a year. If we set up a thread for 2023 translations, would that be helpful?

And I've already planned to read a couple of more translated books from the dynamic rankings which will be doable especially if we extend the closing to mid-February. Two-thirds of the books I read last year were translations, though most of which were published before 2022 (incl. the classics).
