From Michigan with Love is a twelve-track pop-fusion album released in 2019 by American singer and songwriter Quinn XCII. While I am a new listener to this artist, the album is deeply personal for him because it delves into his struggle with mental health and also serves as a shout-out to his home state of Michigan, which allowed me to easily understand the mood and the tone of his music, rather than feeling like a completely new listener.
As the listener, I always manage to find metaphors and allegories in his carefully written lyrics. My favorite song included in the album is “Autopilot” because I think the lyrics are relatable, and I also enjoy the more upbeat vibe of the song, which contrasts nicely with the rest of the songs in the album.
I would rate this album four stars because I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this album over the past year, even though I do not normally listen to pop music. I would, however, recommend this album to anyone who wants to explore pop music or someone who is an avid pop music fan but wants to listen to something new.
