I loved his confession of his soul being ripped in two for leaving her; why did he leave? I’m guessing someone figured out how much Callie meant to him and he had to act like he didn’t care at all and never visit her again, but I feel like he definitely always kept tabs on her and protected her. He knew some things about her life he shouldn’t have, so I’m guessing he stalked her through all of the years. He said something after the creepy feather scene, that he always protected her, so I’m guessing his magic was always on her to protect her? Idk. I am feeling all of the conflicting feelings that Callie is feeling damn, I need to know. Also, I love Temper oh my, she’s cracking me up. The coat thing, I can’t 😂
By the way, the guy Temper was talking about; the client who wants to meet with Callie; why do I feel like he’s going to be the Thief of Souls?? (hide spoiler)]

Like he was so pushy and he didn't bother listening to her and respecting her decision to break up?? Man, what's wrong with you smh.

I'm wondering if the other kingdoms would play a part in the story too. Especially this Janus guy. I can sense he has some tension with Des with how he mentioned him. I kind of want to see how they would interact. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Chapter 20 is officially my favourite part of the book. I thought it was sweet that Des gave her his drawings of the Otherworld when she asked him to and that Callie kept them in her room in the flashback.

What's even sweeter is that she found his other drawings lying around in Des's room and they're all just sketches of her. Ugh, my heart 🥺 (hide spoiler)]

And I didn't feel satisfied with his death because I'm not sure if he really was the one involved with all this?? I really can't wrap my head around it. It made zero sense to me.

(view spoiler)[Well, that was a fast read! I enjoyed it, though the declarations of love got almost a tad too flowery for me. The villain was dealt with rather quickly in the end and I would have preferred for Callie to be able to free herself, as hot as protective Desmond is. Though - I guess it's not over, so we'll see if she grows into her power a bit more in the next few books.
I was relieved that Eli redeemed himself, somewhat. I'm curious about him and I hope he'll reappear at some point.
