https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...Removed ISBN13 to complete the other record.
Please recombine with https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
Thanks
MMP wrote: "What are you asking exactly ?(not clear)"
It's a duplicate. But only superlibrarians can merge it, so I posted here, they know what to do
edit: Did you recombine it? No please, don't do it
MMP wrote: "I didn't merge them I combine them as you asked"Please, leave them as they are (the two editions separated from the rest) until the superlibrarians haven't deleted the duplicate. Requests in this thread should be handled by superlibrarians only, "normal" librarians can't do it. Thanks.
I don't know how to undo what i just did SorryYou should say it before (ONLY FOR SUPER LIBRARIANS) and give more details !!!!
Moloch wrote: "It's on the title of the thread. I undid the combine"Moloch, can you check again please, the books are combined and I don't see a delete in the change log
Edit: sorted
MMP wrote: "ok So this is solved?"No, please leave the requests in this thread to super librarians as stated in the title of the thread

#331 - I had moved the ASIN back to the original, because you are not supposed to move ASIN/ISBN to another edition.
Philip wrote: "...I had moved the ASIN back to the original, because you are not supposed to move ASIN/ISBN to another edition."???
I'll simply note 'exercise of discretion'. To wit, default/orig Kindle was merely missing ASIN but had more complet/accurate into, and that given past history, sometimes easier/faster for supers to delete edition w/ fewer thousands of shelving.
But whatever.
________
ETA 4-Feb-2015: Someone queried why I was so 'abrupt' on open thread. Actually, 'resigned' would be correct but I acknowledge that tone doesn't carry well on 'net posts.
Firstly, comment to me was made on open thread so I replied in kind. Secondly, comment stated a rule w/o regard for possible exceptions (such as one noted by Paula below). Thirdly, IIRC, this is not the first time.
Perhaps I'm an odd duck but IMVHO, if someone affirmatively elects to take on something (whether regular librarian or additional abilities/responsibilities of superlibrarian), then they should endeavour to know/learn as much as possible prior to fully 'spreading their wings', if you will.

If there are thousands of reviews the merge is quicker if the ASIN is moved to the one with thousands of review and delete the one with fewer certainly in the past prior to the queuing of merges since we are deleting the other one, it makes no difference
Edit if I remember correctly we named it a reverse merge
Sorry, not really a request for the superlibrarians, but have you noticed problems with merges today? I clicked "delete" on two duplicates (less than 5 shelvings, obviously) several minutes ago and they're still here. It usually takes much less time
yeah - I was just about to post in GR Feedback - nothing appears to be going through including deletion of quotes / books
Paula wrote: "yeah - I was just about to post in GR Feedback - nothing appears to be going through including deletion of quotes / books"Ah! I was coming to group for something else & saw this...
Paula, if not too much bother, could you add that changes to one blurb is defaulting to all others--w/o default being checked or anything?
(I gave up trying to fix ACE notation)
And back to this thread...DUP/incomplete HC @ www.goodreads.com/book/show/7696459-m...
* HC is default
Please delete all but one of these books. They are duplicates. Thanks! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

343-345 done346 That is spam and should be reported to the staff, not deleted by librarians. I flagged that one.
This is my book there's a correct entry with reviews and ratings:https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
And a bad one without, by the ISBN the second one is the Smashwords edition but I'm not sure it's really needed:

Up to you...
Thanks.
I tried to merge https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
with
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8...
and
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
with
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
but they have too many reviews.
Please help.
Thanks
#348 - I merged the 2 Kindle editions since they had the same covers, information, and one had an ISBN that pointed to the one with the ASIN.
Updated some info on the Smashwords edition. The smashwords is supposed to be kept, since we keep all editions of a book, so that people can shelve the version they own.
New to the group. Not sure where or how to start a new thread (sorry if this is misplaced.) I need help desperately. I’ve been trying to remove two books from my author profile to no avail. I found a page saying that goodreads doesn’t delete books!?! I really need help as I’m trying to take the two books (out of five) that I’ve written and remove them (already did so with the publishers that released them originally) so that I can merge them into a new, larger, print project that I’m currently working on. Please help! Both of these were published by small publishers, one of them is a one man operation who is no longer in contact.https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

#352 - GR does not remove book editions, even if they are not currently being published, or are difficult to find. This way if somebody does have a copy they can shelve the copy they own.
what? that’s ridiculous! they’re ebooks and have been taken down by the publisher’s. There has to be a way to remove them so I can add/edit to them in order to incorporate into a new, larger work. Can I delete my author profile and all the books I wrote?
Patrick wrote: "what? that’s ridiculous! they’re ebooks and have been taken down by the publisher’s. There has to be a way to remove them so I can add/edit to them in order to incorporate into a new, larger work. ..."Patrick,
The attached download can be removed, though that is not something librarians can help you with. I suggest contacting support (support@goodreads.com) or posting in the Author Feedback Group.
The book page itself will not be removed. Goodreads is a database for records of all books/editions. People want to shelve the edition they purchased, so GR keeps a record with the title, cover, format, etc. so users can catalog the edition they have.
If you have further questions/concerns, I suggest contacting Goodreads support.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...This books is, as the title says, just a journal.
